Where has the dragon been?
Hi, there. Sorry for the long absences recently.
Besides dealing with family commitments (I swear, as these kids get older they take up more and more time with schools, activities, homeworks, etc.), I'd been working harder to get the CEP 2.60 update done by my self-imposed deadline (yesterday). I managed to finish it late last night and got it uploaded today, so that's one major project off my plate.
I was also working on the update to the epic magic system...lots and lots of script work there, and still not done. The new scripting relies on a modification to the Aenea haks, so that's something else I need to get working on.
The next week or so will be spent making those epic spell changes in a hak, finishing the script work to update the epic spells, doing more bug fixes in the module (there are some pending, but now have to wait for a hak update), then merging in the changes from CEP 2.60.
Oh, and to top it all off...I have a feeling my trusty laptop, which has been running almost 24/7 for the last 7 years, is showing it's age. I purchased a brand new laptop, but have to now spend time organizing and moving 7 years' worth of stuff (mostly NWN stuff) to a new machine and getting it running right. I've got Photoshop up and running (surprisingly, since my version is from 1999), so that's a start. Next is NWN, then all the support/development programs (gmax, Excel, all the little NWN utilities, etc.).
Not a "suck is..." post. Just a "yes, I'm still alive, just busy outside the server and forum" post.

Your dedication has been a constant for almost a decade, and its a fact that your work has been key in keeping NWN gaming alive. Aenea is a triumph that only gets better, and will continue to do so. Please accept my thanks for all your do, sir. Keep it up!

Oh my goodness, Dave is right, right, right on the money! 's presence has definitely impacted the longevity of this game, and hallelujah for that! The World of Aenea is a gift, and we all sure do appreciate being able to play!
Here's to another almost a decade! Huzzah, , huzzah!

Re: Where has the dragon been?
The dragon lives. Really.
Yes, I've been a bit out of touch the last couple of months. Dealing with serious computer gaming burnout after pushing the CEP 2.60 update out (mostly a solo endeavor), then Alfred (my trusty laptop I've been using for everything NWN for the last 7 years) decided he was ready for retirement...so I've been getting Jarvis (my new trusty laptop running a newer operating system) up and running, copying everything I had off the old computer onto the new one, fussing with getting programs meant for Windows XP to run properly on Windows 8.1.
Of course, there's always the four offspring and wife that need attention, too.
Also, we're slowly starting to get rid of excess "stuff" around the house, since we'll (finally) be moving away from Arizona at the end of next May. We'll officially start our searching for a new house and new job for my wife in January, but we're all looking forward to the change after living in the desert for more than 15 years.
I did start up gmax (the 3d model software) yesterday, and it now actually works for me again, so you guys can look forward to encountering foul magic messing with junk on the docks.

Re: Where has the dragon been?
I loved the weather and terrain of AZ, but am very happy that we moved here to Starkville, MS those many years ago. Guess you are looking for something a bit cooler; we are about the same longitude? as Tempe, but the humidity is higher. Hope the job and locale bear fruit for y'all on time.

Re: Where has the dragon been?
Dude, that's boss! Don't worry, yo, we'll be waiting for you when you decide to come back ... and we'll keep ray from breaking things in the meantime! (Though it's pretty easy because of his AWOL ...)

Re: Where has the dragon been?
Man, I dunno if I can break things as well as Ray can ... although, with DM access, I'm sure *something* can be arranged.
