Is it only me??? Empty Is it only me???

Not sure why my characters can't even move, and seem to be lagging.. Is it at my end or is there some thing holding my characters? I mean I can't even get out of the. astral area. Then when I do it takes a some time for me to get out of the tavern. Once I am out I continue to do the robot move, arms and legs are moving but the character is in place.

Sounds like server lag, and easy to test. If your browser pulls up google and other websites, like www.msg.com without an issue.... then it is not your connection or your PC.

Its fine.. I logged onto another mod and it runs smooth. Not to impressed with that mod, never have been but hey its a nwn mod. Either way, Ill keep trying and see what happens. Thanks for the insight peeps.

Are you 'direct connecting' to Aenea?


Could also be a case simply of the connection to the server is meh.  The Amethyst Dragon's ISP has actually been experiencing a few hiccups lately... IOW, something completely out of our control.

Quick way to log in with direct-connect:

Create a short of your nwmain.exe on your desktop.  Open up the shortcut's properties, and change the "Target" field to as follows: 


C:\YourNWNdirectory\nwmain.exe +connect 68.2.68.147:5121

Rename the shortcut to whatever (NWN-Aenea or such).  Now when you click on that shortcut, it'll start up the game and direct-connect you to Aenea.  You can create multiple shortcuts for all the servers you play on with this method, creating a shortcut for each.

Does that work if you are using the NWNCX launcher option too ?

(If I patch the nwmain with NWNCX the camera mod doesn't take effect.. so I use a different camera patch on my nwmain and then get all the NWNCX goodies by using the launcher)

I'm not sure if the cx launcher can direct connect.  I use the patched nwmain version of the client extender.
