w00t!
New gaming rig is up and running Nice 17 inch screen, processor twice as powerful as my last two computers put together, more than three times the ram of my last computer....
Now for the old "update dance of ages", and then install NWN (among other games I've missed playing that my netbook couldn't play)
!
And... time to get used to typing on a fullsized keyboard again! I've gotten used to a tiny keyboard, so with the new regular sized keyboard, I've been typing like Dave Typo City!

Re: w00t!
LOL same here.... ATM though I'm still slogging through with installing all the background junk various things need (.net framework, C++, ect).
It IS very nice to blast through a horde of balors and their spell-spamming with barely a hiccup!
Now if only I could turn the damn tap-to-click off on my mousepad!

Re: w00t!
I grabbed a cheap wireless gaming mouse for about $20 on amazon. So far it works pretty well, it's the same brand I have for my desktop only that one is wired. It's called E-3lue Mazer. Some japanese knock off but it is pretty sweet

Re: w00t!
The joy of synaptics touchpads... After 10 hours of trying different driver versions, trying registry editing.... I finally just gave up and keep the entire touchpad turned off. Using a MS wireless mouse instead. Works very nice, but the scroll wheel is veeery touchy lol
And skyrim runs vera vera nice! Time to mod the snot out of it

Re: w00t!
Have been an active Skyrim poster on the BSN boards since release. My top mod recommendation is Project Reality: Climates of Tamriel; a weather and lighting mod, though I now use another mod for the latter.

As for other mods, I highly recommend watching Gopher's tutorials, Mod recommendations, and Beginning Modders series simply for tips. And his LPS series is some great entertainment. Gopher is a transplanted Brit that now resides in Norway, and it was his comparison of the CoT mod with Norwegian weather that caught my attention.

Enjoy!

Re: w00t!
I tend to not overly change my skyrim installs. One thing I do like about many mods on nexus is they tend to not go all out flavor changing. Oblivion turned into that... mixing in anime style in. No disrespect to anime/japanese flavor... but sailormoon style miniskirt school girls bouncing about Cyrodil never seemed right to me.
FOr skyrim, I love immersive armors, bandoliers and pouches, claralux for lighting tweaks, then a few misc gameplay tweaks, mostly to magic (one tones down the light spell... ugh, the default light spell is like walking around with a 500 watt flood lamp!)
Considering if I want to use a camping/hypothermia mod this time around. I kind of like the challenge, but then again with my new job and the firefighting, I don't have much free time anymore either.

Re: w00t!
Same here. I played 700+ hrs of vanilla Skyrim before using more than one mod, then chose the ones that enhanced gameplay rather than replaced it.
Frostfall is recommended, as it can be tailored to the Players wishes via MCM. My own settings are pretty light with it; not hardcore like some may prefer.
Also like Immersive HUD (ie; iHUD) by Gopher. Allows for clearing the HUD at a press, and helps make the experience a bit more in depth.
