It seems that my permanent house key works fine to unlock my door.

However, upon actually entering my Sanctum, if I happen to also have
any single use keys on me, one of them is taken from me.

Can we get that trigger changed so that it checks to see
if the person has the permanent key first, and doesnt take a
single use key if they do?

Also, was thinking it would be neat to have the players' permanent
key maybe have a unique power that could once per day take
them to their doorstep. I know the NPC in the clearing does
this, but if someone isn't at the vale and wants to go home, its
silly to have to use a potion of escape first.

I'll second this observation with the use of single-use keys over THE player house key - happens at Jay's digs too...

.. and that unique power idea sounds very good... very good indeed.. currently I have a teleport glove attuned to my doorstep (or near it).. it would be great to free one of these up for useage elsewhere.. .. ..

Unique power is a great idea! Jay's idea is great too, the glove attune, as well ... but Sta'stillen can't teleport, at least to my knowledge ...

I know it's digging up old stuff here but.... ....

What if all the Master House Keys had a 1 or 2/day casting of "Word of Recall".... you know that cleric spell that transports you(and your party) to Magia's Grove... you'd then still have to pay to "continue onwards" to your home... but at least you'll be "halfway" from whereever you were.. ... ...

Actually....if i can make a suggestion on the suggestion. On iggys tower i have a small foyer area...and the key unlocks and locks the inner door.

Since i did it this way....i dont even need keys for others...i can just let t hem in myself. Since theres no reason for em to be in my house anyway while im offline i find no problems from it being done this way.

Yeah thats good for Iggy, but I like to give out the keys for people who can't play often, so that they can view the house in thier own time... maybe use the facilities there when I'm offline, and just have somewhere to relax and go through thier bags, etc whilst they don't have a house of their own... ..

I still think the key's should be minor teleport items allowing one to travel to thier house from anywhere in Aenea, if not the option to get the keys "upgraded" at extra cost should be availiable... say another 500k...... ....

Agreed 100% rusty.

With not being able to teleport from the astral conunction anymore, its a pain to have to trans to the SDi just to be able to telport to my house.

I think the permanent keys should be able to take you to your house as soon as you log in.

House keys are currently being reworked, based on these suggestions and my own thoughts.

The plan is to do away with the permanent keys, replacing them with database variables and a couple of easy VC commands. The temporary keys for giving to others will remain the same.

This will include the ability to teleport directly into your house from either the elf grove or the Sleeping Dragon (both in Valorian's Vale) for a small fee (100 gp). Once it's in, the command will, of course, be noplacelikehome. Razz

I know, it's not as handy as teleporting from anywhere in Aenea, but for those that can already teleport, this isn't a big change. And by the time you can affort a 500,000 gp home, a 500 gp potion of escape isn't much of an expense for the time savings vs. walking the whole way.
