Derfel Cadarn - Beuttlerian Warlord

Derfel is a high-ranking officer in the Beuttlerian Militia, commanding officer of a scouting party sent to explore Aenea. Derik Aerlias is his second-in-command, and his usual hunting partner.
Beuttleria is populated primarily by humans, but the first scout sent into the world was Morkano Cubragol, a Sea Elf. Once his report was sent back, Derfel and his team arrived and set to work.
Beuttlerians have a particular hatred for the undead, and the scimitar he wrested from a pit full of mummies is one of Derfel's prized weapons. One of their newer transfers is a monk who has spent his time in Aenea thus far doing his best to forestall the undead rising up from the graveyard.

Over time, Derfel's mission has changed from that of advance officer of a scouting unit to Warlord of a forgotten outpost. Transfers from other Beuttlerian units filter in over time, but Beuttlerian Command has ceased to be interested in developing a serious military presence on the continent of Aenea. Having received no further orders, Derfel has given his men free reign to do what they must to prepare to face the dangers of their new home.
