question about mini-maps Empty question about mini-maps

Post by Amethyst347 Sat Jul 25, 2009 3:46 am

When I bring up my mini-map in Valorian's Vale, it just just shows up as blank (well, white, actually), but with the map pins there. Other maps in the different areas I've visited, like the Elf grove, the farms north of town have normal maps. Is there something wrong with the Vale map?

Not a massive problem, but just curious.

Oh, and while I'm here, how do you "tell" in-game? I don't see that option in the voice chat (shout, talk, etc).

Yeah, i have the same problem with the mini-map in Vale...would be interesting to hear if other people have the same problem.

And for tells: Just left-click on a player portrait and your good to go.

Hope that helps Very Happy

Amethyst347,

If you visit this thread, it gives more information about the white map issue! As far as the cause, I believe it's still up in the air (although believed to concern the CEP's Rural Tileset)...

One thought - do you have anything in your overrides folder?

Ah, sorry to start another thread; I was sure I'd looked around on the forums for this topic first! Razz

And I have a couple things in my override (I try not to mess around w/ that too much), but they haven't caused me problems before--one is the lovely transparent GUI and the other is a thing that lets you customize the appearance of your armor/weapons/etc without using skills or paying money (which obviously doesn't work in Aenea). Nothing else besides those two. *shrug*

Although the root of this one hasn't been figured out yet, I don't think it's necessarily something in the overrides. I get this too with the vale minimap and several others, but only on Aenea itself. In SP modules, those same tilesets don't have the same minimap glitch... Others players don't get the glitch at at all online.

For the upcoming hak updates, I've added alpha layers to all the cep minimap images. Hopefully this will fix the problem for those that are having it.

(I had no problems with the minimap before and can't see a difference, so I don't know if this will actually fix the problem or not.)
