Currently I believe that when an animal is killed, it may drop a pelt. Perhaps this needs to be changed a little to drop meat instead, as anyone foraging for food will find this when felling a deer, pig, etc. Then if the PC has a Craft score of 5 or so, a pelt may be added too, as this does seem to require a bit of Skill to obtain intact from a kill.

I have not yet done the Food Quest for the mayor with any PC, but this may aid immersion here; better than simply buying dinner from the nearby butcher.
