Not Used: Item Enchantment:: Item descriptions added to list?

Hello,

I like the format of the Item Enchantment threads. Very easy to understand what it takes to create/enchant an item.

Is it possible to add a description to the items (Banner of the Long March?) as to what properties the item has? Sometimes it's self-evident, but sometimes not.

Or perhaps, if the player knowing what the item does is a meta-gaming issue, perhaps in-game sources (books readable by those with the appropriate classes/languages?) with item recipe/descriptions that PCs can find?

Books for folks to look up the recipe and properties of certain items would be very cool.

And would save having to copy the lists of stuff out... could even have them as dialog tree from the "big book" (like the ones outside Vorschlaggs lair).. then they could be easily updated with new/altered info... and then place said big books in the labs/workshops...

Ah, but if I put in all the item properties, where's the fun of discovery in-game?

And adding information here is WAY easier than somewhere in the game.

As is scribbling down stuff on notecards, and taping them to the monitor.

The list of requirements for making the items is mostly for those spellcasters that already know or have an idea of what a particular item does, but want to be able to make one themselves.

If I were to put all the descriptions here, it'd just end up like a section of one of those "strategy guides" they sell for video games...here's a list of everything and what it does, don't bother trying this item because it's not as good as that item...

Hrm... Aenean strategy guide.... I can see where you're coming from to a degree , but I can also see how that would be cool to have, should somebody want it.

Some folks play to enjoy the discovery and like dealing with the quirks that result from the learning process. Other folks might enjoy the discovery, but sometimes want to be informed before certain choices.

The work involved is not worth it, though...
