IMPORTANT ALIGNMENT TIP!!!
On the south side of Mountainholm Castle, there is a place called the Cosmic Balance, where you can pay to have your alignment adjusted back to where you need it. Cost increases with your level and the amount of adjustment needed.
Keep in mind, that unless you have lost class features, or your alignment has somehow else impacted your ability to play- IT IS BEST TO WAIT TILL YOU HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO LEVEL UP BEFORE YOU GO AND PAY TO FIX YOUR ALIGNMENT!
The reason is that you might pay, early on in a level, and then have your alignment stray again before you gain enough XP to level up, thus requiring you to pay again if you wish to progress in your chosen profession.
Now. The SIMPLEST and EASIEST way I can think of to make this convenient is as follows- You will need to purchase TWO items:
1. A potion of escape from Smitty's shop, right around the corner from the Sleeping Dragon Inn. This will need about 600g at most.
2. A Contract of Translocation from the Holy Magi of Mystara located in the "hidden" grove, up the hill behind the Sleeping Dragon Inn, past the Wanderer's Portal, following the inconspicuous trail in the northeast of the portal area. This will cost you 2,000 gold.
After purchasing these items, save them, and keep them with you at all times. ( I would recommend having a full stack of escape potions, as they are teleportation magic that works almost everywhere, and they can really save your bacon if you use them in time).
Now, head to Mountainholm Castle, and locate the Cosmic Balance. Just outside the door to the Cosmic
Balance, use your Contract of Translocation to attune it to that spot.
Once this is done, you will have made your alignment woes much less headache, as
the next time you get enough XP to level up, if your alignment needs adjustment, you can simply get to a point where it is convenient to make a trip back to civilization to restock and rest up. Once you are ready, just use the Contract of Translocation to teleport right back to the Cosmic Balance, fix your alignment,
and level up. The potion of escape is included because there are areas where most teleportations
will not work, and a 500 gp potion is cheaper than a 2000 gp contract. So... you will be best off using the potion first to return to Valorian's Vale, THEN using the contract... as if you are in a no teleport area and dont know it, when you attempt to use the contract, its magic will be blocked, and the contract's magic will be used up... so safest bet is to use the extra 500 or 600 gps and play it safe by using the potion of escape first.
After doing so, you will want to head back to the "hidden" grove, and use the altar to mystara to pay the 2,000 gp to recharge your contract, then head back to the door of the Cosmic Balance to re-attune it.
If you really want to make the travel between the Valorian's Vale and Mountainholm Castle convenient, talk to the old man by the entrace to the portal area. He can get you started on the quest to learn to use the wanderer's portals for quick transport between many places... Valorian's Vale and Mountainholm Castle among them.
Should you do so, it will make one of the coolest parts of Aenea accessible to you. A note here: The "hints" located by each portal are the settings to teleport BACK to that location from a DIFFERENT portal. If you use those settings on the portal they are near, you will be sent to limbo.

Yes, but isn't Limbo one of the coolest parts of Aenea? Or, wait, what am I thinking?

Re: IMPORTANT ALIGNMENT TIP!!!
lol i thought about an "ingame prison" for my (unfinished and never going to be finished) module, where you can (after spending some time in your cell) escape just before your "death punishment" and be a free man again
i havent come to test that yet

Can this thread be updated.. because for new players who may not know.. potions of escape don't work everywhere.. however Lysis Secret Keys do and you can find a few scattered around Aenea.. I suggest the Magic Emporium at Macedone is a good place to find some.. these should be carried at all times and really will save your life.. without ye even knowing it.. ..

Re: IMPORTANT ALIGNMENT TIP!!!
Lysis Keys do not seem to work everywhere, as well. Occasionally Aargyle just lies there bleeding and the effects go off, but the rescue is blocked, And then when the second charge discharges but fizzles, you really do not want me to be on any microphone software when you hear me doing the William Shatner cry, "KHAAAAANNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!".
As for the Cosmic Balance, it does have it's own quirks. Aargyle went from 83 Lawful /100 Good to 85/85, but at no apparent cost to either gold or XP; the Good pts seemed to defray the other penalties.
