Making an Override Out of a Hak Empty Making an Override Out of a Hak

Somewhere on here, a tattoo (with nudity) hak was suggested, and that it could be made an override simply by using the nwhak.exe in the NWN utils folder and extracting the contents of the hak into the override folder. (I don't remember where the original suggestion was and I can't find it... Sad)

I tried that and it half worked. I got the new models, but the original textures are still on them. This looks not only silly but kind of painful... Laughing

Can anyone help me figure out how to get the textures to override as well?

If you're seeing the new models, perhaps the texture files were not all extracted at the same time.

Or, versions of the original textures are in one or more hak files associated with Aenea (Aenea haks, CEP haks, or CCP hak). Files in the hak files take precedence over those in the override directory.

I will attempt to Extract All again and see if it gets it, however, I was not logged into Aenea, I was in a single player module for character creation, testing, and re-leveling.

I think I know what the problem is:

The new textures (for the males, haven't even tested the females yet...) start at like pelvis 211 or something, but 001 is the default pelvis on all new PCs. The only way I can find to change it is in the toolset, or by in-game scripting. I have a mod that has an "Appearance Helper" that you can talk to to modify most of your characters appearance, except that he doesn't seem to support those numbers for that part. Unfortunately, I have no idea to fix that, and it seems there would have to be such an NPC or script in Aenea to get proper texturing on said override. (Since they are technically tatoos...)

If The Amethyst Dragon wants any further info, I will be happy to provide. Though I kind of doubt he wants to roll this particular mod into Aenea... Well, maybe as an optional download? Laughing

Unless someone can figure something else out, I'll probably just remove the files from the override, after all, how often do characters run around in their underware/naked anyway? (Though maybe if those wicked tatoos were an option, it would happen more often... Laughing )
