Got Alex into the ol' Palace....

And even inside, he couldn't equip the Sword of Hope.

Given it's a big deal to get the sword, perhaps when a PC is in the palace, the martial weapon proficiency could be added to their PC skin to ensure that they are able to use the sword should they not have the proficiency normally?

There's a number of classes that don't have martial weapons(cleric, bard, rogue, wizard, sorcerer, and monk), and two classes that don't even have the option of taking it at all as a feat in their feats list at level up (druid and shifter).

Hrmm... and maybe a temp exotic weapons proficiency property along those lines as well for when using the summoned elemental blade of fire?

That, or maybe set the summon rod to be transferable? For characters who don't have the exotic weapons proficiency, not being able to junk the rod nor make use of it is bleh Smile

What about adding the exotic martial feat to the weapon itself?

Wouldn't quite work. Need the feat to equip the weapon, and the feat on the weapon would only be applied when the weapon is equipped.
