Kudo's thread
I been wantin to do this and i keep forgettin to(addiction keeps me online ) but i just wanted to post a comment on just how i feel bout your server . I dont have one single word for it...but since playing here...all the extras you put in...the semi-classes...the spells...teleport systems..all that...make this server a joy to play on.
You've done an absolutely fantastic job with all the odds and ends and i could never go back to an old plain nwn server. Your extra work..your dedication to making sure things get fixed and working right make me feel honored to be allowed to even play here. I know i can speak for all playing here in sayin that you are truly an expert at building and your love for your server show thru to your players and you are most definetly appreciated even though we may not say it outright but our addiction to it all speaks for us i think
I dont have alot of money..cant afford to donate...but i can give praise...and i give that in spades buddy.
So heres a heartfelt thanks for all that you do

Re: Kudo's thread
Everyone is right when they say that Aenea makes it very difficult to go back to plain ol' NwN. I firmly believe that is one of the great figures of the custom content scene, and we are so unbelievably lucky that we didn't lose him to any other games. I just can't imagine my days without Aenea. Hells, I sit at work on my breaks and think of things concerning Aenea. Truly, I feel that this world and this server reflect the very best elements of D&D, and that 's dedication and resourcefulness are pretty much second to none.
It is for all these reasons and more that NwN is the only game I play anymore, and the World of Aenea is pretty much the only place i visit within NwN. Very little else comes close to providing the immersiveness that continuously gives to us.
Long live Aenea!

Aenea makes it hard to quit NWN.
When I first heard of Aenea, I was about to quit NWN. I had played through the OC + add-ons about a dozen times, thought I had squeezed as much pleasure out of it that I was going to get, and thought I should move on. I even thought that since my job was partially dependent on a level of awareness of the current gaming environment that maybe I was shooting myself in the foot. 4 or so years was enough playtime for one game I thought.
Then I joined Aenea, started having a fricking blast, and for six+ months I was able to immerse myself in this game world. Aenea is a combination of what I love about the OC and the amazing innovation/pleasurable world implemented by (not evening mentioning the great player community and DM group) is great.
But even despite that, I thought I was on a time-limit. I was going to level my PC to 40th before the New Year (the Great Server Outage of Winter 08 prevented that), move on, and start some other games.
Instead, Zelda: Twilight Princess sits lonely in its case, the disc for The Force Unleashed has had about only 15 minutes time spent in the console, and I haven't checked to see if Tenchu 4 has gone Gold for months.
Thanks .
Time to start another character!

Re: Kudo's thread
Hehe, I could barely stand the OC before Aenea. I don't think I could tolerate much past the prelude at this point. SoU/HotU are decent though... no Aenea, but still playable for me.

Re: Kudo's thread
This thread belongs to Kudo? Hmm? *flicks wayward apostrophe away*
I also extend much praise. Teleport/summon ally/magehound? All the custom deity stuff? Fricken awesome. I never played a caster on NWN before here, esp not a cleric, because it seemed so limited in NWN! Little things like the treasure splitter and sacrificial flame? Oh man, soooooo great. Having a way to easily split loots and not having to trudge around to find the merchant that buys it is great. Being able to clean up after ourselves is great.
I offer cookies in any flavor

Re: Kudo's thread
Aye.. kudo's indeed... Aenea rocks... the attention to details and constant bug-squishing and improvements/tweeking is just beyound belief... NWN was slowly dying for me... the OC/SoU/HotU was just dying and getting boringly predictable.. I think it was partly my own fault as my PC had made the game more a "walkthrough chore" then a "challenging fun game".....
... then I started toying with the toolset and creating things and modules for myself, and downloading stuff from the vault.... then I came across a certain Transparent GUI and it blew my mind away... then came the rest of the colour icons updates.. and the HoD... and after playing through with this overhaul a bit I wondered what else had done.. and came across Aenea.. my first foray into On-Line NWN (and on-line gaming in general)....
... The great blackout of winter 08 was ther first time I went to look at different places.. and decided NOTHING else compares.... the moment I hit F12 to sacrifice a battlefield of remains... and had no sacrificial flame... or went to Transfer across a large open expanse...
I'll stop here... but I think everyone gets the point... I love this place.. and it's community.. ... rock on Aenea!!... I'll play untill takes the server off-line for good.. (and I have nightmares of that day, pray it never happens... )

Re: Kudo's thread
Aenea offers something on a level that I can't imagine anywhere else has achieved.... *playability*.
The scripting that adds new features and functionality may take a bit to learn and get used to... but once you do that, its like part of your expectations... you can't get the same *feel* from the game without it all. I think about the OC and the premium modules a lot.... but only briefly.... because it only takes a few moments for me to realize all the stuff that will be *missing*. It just isn't good enough without those things... it used to be okay, but not anymore.

I've only been on Aenea for a few days and i'm absolutely hooked, and thats from the small bit of the world I have experienced. Very well done to you The Amethyst Dragon and thank you Kefrem for showing me this server. Great stuff!
