Phyllick's Dairy: Part II Empty Phyllick's Dairy: Part II

I hope no one minds my second thread in the "Tales of Adventure". Though I'm not big on RP, I like keeping track of where I've been, what I'm doing, and what's occurred game-wise. At also gives me a sense of place and purpose in Aenea. But it wouldn't be completely honest if I said that I didn't want to share (Brag? Hope for sympathy?) my adventures w/ Phyllick. And to truthful, I think that I'd enjoy reading more of others experiences here.

I didn't remember my name, where I'm from, or how I came to the tower top naked and alone. But there was only one direction to go...

...in the cave tunnel, I met creature of iron that charged me. I raised a shieldless shield-arm, and reached for a weapon that wasn't there as fear almost hobbled me. The metal fist slammed into my head, and I saw no more...

...I awoke in a Great Hall. I stepped upon a dias as if it were an old habit....

...Then a voice spoke to me - "Phyllick, know that I am your God and you will serve my Will in Aenea."

I now know my name and God, and I have a purpose in this land.

Ashamed of my nakedness, I now seek clothing and arms. An anger grows in my breast, familiar and comforting.

...met a woman the other night. Said she knew me from before. For the strangest reason, I wanted to hand her Dragon blood. She made me nervous.

Have decided that Law is better than Neutrality. Have been rewarded with additional abilities only available to my kind.

Still trying to decide what kind of weapon I should focus my talents in.

My Faith in Terris grows stronger. She has forgiven all my failures unto now, and hopefully beyond this time...

My memories seep back.

I remember Aurora. In the Vale I struggled with her, and when her amusement ended, so did my life.

I remember my anger, but it is no longer as potent as it once was. It'll likely never give pause to the Orcs again. And the orcs may not remember me, but I recently took an all too familiar beating at their hands.

I grow in strength and fortitude, and need to stretch my legs. My faith is stronger than ever*...

And I have my inkpot.

* Found a new weapon, the Staff of Terris(!), that's making me consider using my Scales. If only I could "recharge" it though :-)

I saw my first Gold Dragon today. I had never laid eye on one of these noble creatures before till that moment.

Unfortunately, the dragon was under the sway of Aurora (curse her heart), and she commanded it to attack me.

I slew it in self-defense. Though it pained me to do so, perhaps better to be free in death than a thrall to evil. Yet, I feel a stain on my heart...

Just as bad, the people of the Vale did not understand, only seeing a scruffy dwarf slaying an avatar of what is Good in Aenea*. They attacked, and before I could stay my hand, the cleric of the Vale was dead at my feet. I fled before I could do more harm....

Oh Terris! My shame overwhelms me, what must I do to perform penance!

--------------------------------------------------------

* The dragon's and townsfolk's factions must be aligned or the same, and killing the Dragon because of Aurora (thrice cursed Drow!) caused them all to 'dislike' Phyllick.

Hehe, totally unintentional side effects, but in the end, actually very Aurora-like move Smile

I caught and slew the Dark (though slain myself by her allies). Through her magics, she was able to escape, and it isn't finished yet.

But while in the beholder caves, I warred with Auger, sycophant of the Dark.

We had at each other for sometime: Auger is a potent adversary. It was my luck that the beholders that frequently intruded negated much of his magics.

Though he had the upper hand at the last of it, he made a mistake. I was able to withstand his martyrdom and was the last standing.

It is not finished between he and I either, and I fear our next encounter. He shames his clan and his race with his evil. The madness might be tolerated (he speaks to dead vermin!) if not for that.

It was fun! But I think I had a couple of smokes, went to the store for more beer, and wrote letters to my family during the time it took for the PCs to whittle each other down. I swear you ended the fight simply because you had grown bored....

// Curses - Phyllick is 40th level Ascended PC, put was caught in a Purple Worm without a proper weapon. The salt in the wound was his arch-nemesis taunting him, offering him a weapon he could use to escape. But what really rubbed the salt+lemon juice into his wounded pride was accepting it.
