July 31: Multi-hak file updates
I've been working on updating the hak files for Aenea the last couple of days, since the aeneahak_updates.hak file has been growing in size. Then I went ahead and decided to add two new tilesets (Fantasy Interiors by WoRm and Suspended City by Helvene).
I've already reduced the size of the interiors hak by half from the published version.
I created a new fireplace model that will be used in the Sleeping Dragon Inn. I'm finishing up some modeling work for the cestus. Getting the new sling models added. Updating minimap icons for the CEP tilesets.
I'm trying to get as much of the custom content stuff (models and 2da files) changed before I upload as I can in the next day or two. Then I'll pack everything together and upload it to the Vault.
For those that have the DEC_08 playerpack downloaded, there will be an JUL_09 "update" download (with updates to the aeneahak_t.hak, aeneahak_s.hak, and aeneahak_updates.hak files). There will also be a new JUL_09 playerpack available for new players to get everything at once.

They're a killer on the framerate, but look oh so good
Will the update include ACP/CEP robes, or was that simply too much stuff to consider adding in?

Robes: Going to try another download attempt today. First one, the haks wouldn't open for me.

Neat!
Although.... I can see Angelica having to deal with people waving holy symbols at her and screaming "The power of Prizimal Compels you!" or some such hehe
The robedownloads... the files themselves were corrupt? Or was it trouble getting them to download?

any news on that cloak thats goofy in the toolset? im still interested in using that one.

I haven't been able to see that cloak issue myself in the toolset. If you'd like to send me an .erf with a sample cloak made, I can import it and see what happens.

I considering altering the turn undead ability in the future so that instead of raising you hands and silently sending out yellow light, you will raise your holy symbol and call upon your patron deity to turn back the undead (or bend them to your will, if you are evil). This would, of course, require having a holy symbol in the first place (with an automatic equipping to the left hand, turning, then re-equiping whatever was there before after a round), and make that little conjure holy symbol spell more useful.MannyJabrielle wrote:Neat!

Robes...I was unable to open either hak file, using nwhak or nwn explorer. I didn't include them for this update (since I couldn't open them, and they were absolutely huge downloads). If I can get the the download to work right, I think it would make for a potential override...I'm not sure if/how robes work in overrides, or if they have to be in hak files.

Oh, and I just uploaded the new files to the Vault's FTP server. Once Beyondthepale gets a chance to transfer them over to the Aenea files page, they'll be available:
AENEA_PLAYERPACK_JUL_09 = all the hak files and tlk file in a single download (for new players or reinstalls)
AENEA_PLAYERPACK_PATCH_JUL_09 = download this one if you have all the files from the DEC_08 PLAYERPACK already (contains only the updated _s, _t, & _updates haks and the tlk file)
AENEA_PLAYERPACK_JUL_09 = all the hak files and tlk file in a single download (for new players or reinstalls)

They should work alright in the override folder. The only issue would be that they would conflict with any other modules that use the CEP horse/flying phenotypes. It would have to be haks to avoid conflicts, or to completely migrate the ACP phenotypes to numbers not used by the CEP. I got an ACP+CEP package set up (and will be uploading to the vault with a hak and an override version), I'm just waiting for CEP2.3 to come out later this week to make sure they didn't add any new phenotypes or such.
