Not Used: Hovering wizards idea..

Not sure on Ad's skills in this area...but when wizzys hover thier shield is way off to the side and doesnt appear to be in position to do anything.

My suggestion is to move it on the hover animation so it floats in front of the wizards...something akin to this...

I take it you've not run across Ignatius Arkayn in-game yet ?... Kef's PC has a very good likeness to him... and from what I understand it wasn't entirely planned... ...

It was planned im a huge fan. I wanted something akin to Mordenkainen from greyhawk and elminster from Faerun...i just kinda took Dr. strange and melded it with the greyhawk mythos and tailored his attire similar.

And yes...its a dr strange pic...not sure who made it..i just dug it up on the net. If you want...read kef's bio on the biographies section...give you an idea of what/who he is.

It would look wierd having a shield directly in front of me all the time.... as it is, when in combat, the shield actually has an animation as it moves to reposition itself to block an attack. MUCH cooler imo than having it stay in front of me.

Well that too would be cool...but that would require skill in model animation...i tried that.....

Anyway...my intention was to make it appear as though the shield was wortin in from...just so it would appear it *could* block incoming attacks. As it is now....its like a floating buzzsaw next to ya lol.

Not *would* be cool. It *is* cool. Present tense. If you watch carefully while your levitating PC fights, the shield *does already* move to intercept attacks.

my shield has never moved from the far left position ever. It just sits there

It works depending on where the attack actually "hits." If it's in a spot where a Person would move the shield to block, then it *should* do the same and move the shield to block.

i have stood(and died) many times with my shield readied....it literally never moves...ever...always off to the side non-animated. Its why i started this thread...if its sposed to for some reason its not workin for me

yup its supposed to. i have seen the shiled animation MANY times.... moves out in front, blocks an arrow or sword for me.

If it isnt working for ya, there must be a client side issue.

Always worked for my wiz/sorc pc's as well.

Seems i have discovered why i wasnt seeing the animation. My AC was so high they couldnt hit me...so the animation dont fire so skip t his whole idea lol
