Project Q Impressions
Since the team for Project Q has released a beta version of their work, I thought I'd take a peek inside to see what was there. I'd seen some screenshots a few months ago, so I downloaded and decompressed the huge file.
Lots of nice work in there...some of which I already had in the Aenea haks from previous Vault downloads (like the updated skeletal undead). I'm planning on pulling a few of the things I really like out of the Q files for use in Aenea (I was waiting for their stone horse creature model before making a stone horse magical item, and I'm going to adapt some of their shield models to the old shield system so that it'll be an automatic visual upgrade without having to make all new items, and I like a few of their placeables).
Given the size of the download and the size & complexity of the Aenea files already (and the fact that they plan on having constant small updates that I would then have to constantly do merges with), I won't be adding the entire Q collection. Picking and choosing can be fun though.

Re: Project Q Impressions
The shields look very nice. Too bad their 3part shield system isn't compatible with CEP out of the box.

Re: Project Q Impressions
It is some good-looking stuff! It's nice to see that despite its age and its status, the game still gets great attention from custom-content builders!

Re: Project Q Impressions
Hehe...when dealing with custom content from multiple creators, it's always about merging stuff to make it compatible. Even the CEP isn't Aenea-compatible until I merge .2da files and override some CEP stuff that conflicts with custom Aenea content.MannyJabrielle wrote:The shields look very nice.
