Title: Questions about Aenea

Thought I'd start a thread for questions about the module. I'll go first.

Can you learn more languages in-game or are you limited only to the languages you chose at character creation?

The languages you start with should give you some mileage in-game. If you are lucky, you will also find magical books that will grant you the knowledge to use additional languages (these usually have titles like "The Tongue of ...").

When creating a subrace character that has bonus feats, are you able to select improved versions of those feats later down the road?

An example would be a drow with ambidexterity and two-weapon fighting. Will the module recognize the character as having those feats and allow it to choose improved TWF later on?

The reason I ask is because I've found in other servers that when a subrace receives an attribute bonus, it's not exactly the same as actually receiving an actual attribute POINT. It's more like a permanent buff that would NOT be recognized by the system for the purpose of say, choosing a certain feat with a minimum attribute requirment (not sure if that's the case here, haven't built a SR char yet).

Just wondering if there might be any "system catches" like that with bonus feats.

Another question:

Are the subraces all classifed as their parent race? For example, is a Beastial Half-Orc technically still classified as a Half-Orc, or is it now considered a Beast?

Another example might be a Demon Spawn: Are the now classified as Fiends or some other sort of creature "type" (not too familiar with the builder) other than their original pre-SR race?

& etc.

Do subrace attribute penalties affect feat choices For example, if people are planning on multi-classing, but in order to do so they need certain required feats first, should they then factor the subrace subtraction amount into their character creation attribute point dispersion?

i.e.: A certain subrace comes with -2 DEX. Even though at creation the character qualifies for certain feats, after subrace penalties are applied, the character no longer will. Therefore, the player needs to allot two additional DEX points when creating their character in order to achieve their build as planned.

The bonus feats and ability points are basically like a permanent buff.

You would still have to have the feat as normal in order to take the improved version later.

The same goes with the ability bonuses. They are essentially just permanent enhancement bonuses (and subject to the game-engine-max of +12). You would need the base ability score to be high enough in order to take on the feat you want later.

Subrace penalties should not limit feat choices, just as the bonuses do not help.

It is possible to make it so that feats and abilities from subraces are actually edited into the character file, but this would require extra scripting combined with the running of an additional database system and character editor software.

I prefer to be able to do everything with the basic database and NWN software, so I have opted not to go that route.

The subraces are recognized by the game as the parent race. Vampires not considered to be the undead racial type, and demon spawn are not really fiendish. There isn't a way in-game to actually change your base race.

I'm creating my own item.
Is it possible to use Aenea's spells in it?
How can I do that?

Does the Lasting Inspiration and Lingering song incrase duration of new songs (ex. traveller's chant)?

Yes. You can now download the Aenea Player Building Module from here. It will allow you to add many of the new spells to items.
