Partially Used: Dragon Blood
Yeah, soo....
The changes are great for the most part.... but I am only the thrid person tonight be be less than excited about the newfound rarity of dragon's blood.
Considering it is needed in mass quantities for various quests.... and the fact that Dragons are HUGE creatures in most cases.... it only makes sense that you could get at LEAST one vial from a kill.... and on larger dragons they should have enough blood to harvest many vials.... so thats what I am suggesting

Re: Partially Used: Dragon Blood
The catch is not just getting the blood, but getting a good sample of blood. However, yes I'd agree that you should have a certain tiered drop rate based on the size/age of the dragon. Maybe something like:
Ancient ; 3-5
Old ;2-3
Adult ; 1-2
Young ; 75% chance of usable sample
Wyrmling ; 25% chance of usable sample

Re: Partially Used: Dragon Blood
Making a change based on this thread. Not increasing the frequency of drops right now (still 10%), but increasing number dropped based on HD of the dragons.
30+ HD: 2-7 vials
20-29 HD: 1-4 vials
Less than 20 HD: 1 vial
Which quest(s) require large amounts of dragon blood (or any dragon blood)? I don't recall any right off hand, but I may have to re-script those I'm forgetting in order to take into account the new dragon blood item tags.

Dwarf/maker shopping lists.
The only thing I can think of scripted in game that uses dragon blood is a certain presto-chango lady's bathtub

Re: Partially Used: Dragon Blood
Oh, and another blood related suggestion...
Could the two red dragon spawns be set to more than once per reset, or could there be other red dragon spawns placed in Aenea?
All the other chromatic dragons respawn, but the red dragons are only onces per, so their blood is going to be beyond painfully rare as is :O

Re: Partially Used: Dragon Blood
, could you check the 10% rate? My sample of 80 dragons killed for 4 bloods and 6 scales was more like 5!

Re: Partially Used: Dragon Blood
It's a random 10% chance to drop for each dragon slain. For your 80 dragons, that was 80 10% chances of getting blood.Skywatcher wrote:, could you check the 10% rate? My sample of 80 dragons killed for 4 bloods and 6 scales was more like 5!
I might make further adjustments to this as we go along.
