Custom Houses
Is there a limit on what we can put in the area? I plan on making a ship interior as my house. In one of the lower (I say lower because it's a fake downstairs) Parts of my area, I plan on having a bunker for all the crew. I know I seen animals in most peoples houses, but can I place some NPC Elf Mercenaries in mine? I will also have another part with cells and some target pratice crap. But I want to put real orcs in a couple of the cells. Surprising you don't have a guidline of what you can place in a housing area. Didn't see anything in the FAQ about this.

Can we toss in spawns on denizens to use against unwary adventurers? Let the houseowner put items in various places for people to grab and whatnot?

Was sort of curious about this one myself. I'd like to make a museum for my rogue character, complete with guards, traps, and stealable art-type stuff (no items with properties, but maybe a modest gp value).

From my experience with player housing.. the general rule is: nothing that will give your PC a major advantage over non-house owning PC's....
So we're talking stuff that's "easy" to come by and "common" ... so an alter to your deity, some areas for the use of crafting, enchanting, scribing, resting better... a source of food (and other common commodities, maybe blank scrolls for a spellcaster)....
... any NPC's you you put in your house will be "PC-friendly", with no conversations (other then perhaps default "hello" sound), will be un-killable, and purely for flavour...
Your house needs to be based in "Nektaria".. ... .. I think due to Aurora's Abysal Throne and Alastairs Tradeholme house, these MAY have been slackened off bit....
Try to keep placeabless below 150, including static ones.... and keep the area "simple"... ...

Hehe, Aurora's home is in Nektaria... or well, the entrance to her little demiplane in the abyss is under nektaria...
And the NPCs in the home can be killable. I forget what the limit was when I asked about NPCs in the homes. I think I have a total of 10 in both Synge Manor (9 dogs, 1 cat) and the Arcane Abyss (1 mindflayer, 9 snakes)

Do we have a say in what the exterior would look like? Because I want a merchant ship appearance. The regular medium ship doesn't look good to me. Really I want an Air Ship (The ones with a balloon) But I already know the answer is most likely a no. LOL. That would be one sweet ride for this Winged elf.

I was thinking to give Miow a treehouse with the entrance being a ladder propped up next to a random tree in the woods or somesuch, and to put in some War Kittens from the family XD

Homeowner building directions
Entrances: A little bit of freedom here. I'll work the entrance into an existing area. The idea of a ladder to get into a treehouse works great. A "houseboat" works as well, I'd just have to figure out exactly where it's permanently "docked".
No encounters/spawns...it's a private residence, not a battlefield.

We only have one ship appearance available for that sort of thing. Reason I know this is that Derik is already having a ship made for him as his custom home, courtesy of the awesome Kefrem. So, no bigger/more elaborate ships, not that we know of.

There is a Merchant ship in the CEP City exterior Tileset. It's only 1 Tile bigger then the regular boat. But it looks more fancy. There is also an Air Ship in the same tileset.
