Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
Uploading a new aeneahak_updates.hak file right now. The compressed version is about 10MB bigger than the previous one!
What could possibly swell a compressed file this much?
Models. And textures. And more models.
So, what can you expect to see out of this (after I transfer the new haks and module file to the server sometime tomorrow)?
A) A new dartboard in the Sleeping Dragon...I didn't like the ones available, so I made a new one.
B) A new world map. I figured out that I can use the 3D relief map I made after I compiled the model files (so the game doesn't have to every time they need to be rendered). This one will require a little building on my part before it shows up, but the files are there for me to build with now.
C) A tree placeable for a species unique to Aenea...the fire oak (rare trees that grow in forests...they are immune to fire and have glowing orange leaves and smouldering black bark).
D) Bald heads. I'll be adding these to the "alterations" shop in Macedone sometime in the next week. Why bald?
- open-faced hoods
- tiger head hats
- wolf head hats
- wicker hats
- and later: open-faced helms and more PC head customizing stuff

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
Visible hoods in various colors, three colors of wolf head hats, tiger hat, and wicker hat will be available via VC command (see head help after the next planned reset).
Edited to add:
Also, after the next reset you'll be able to see the 3D relief worldmap. Just use the VC command option map to set your preference to use the 3D one. Note, though, that you'll start out in a small chamber with a sign...read that first so you don't potentially cause your game client to crash (the relief maps have a crapton of polys, and hundreds of shifting shadows and lighting can crash your NWN game).
New dartboard is now in the Sleeping Dragon.
The first fire oak will appear in Moonblaze after the next reset.

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
So far:
Map is working properly, but I want to adjust the area lighting to make the shadows stand out more so you can better see the 3Dness.
Hoods/Hats...they work for the initial 30-seconds, but the module's 1-minute cycling is not. I'll work on this again tomorrow.
Oh, and the first of a few wagon caravan routes is now in the game and working properly. The Fellowship of Haulers runs a small wagon caravan from Mountainholm Castle to Macedone, which leaves at 8am sharp every day. To ride, just purchase passage, then wait inside the small building...at the proper time, your journey will begin automatically...then you can relax for as long as you want (or end the journey anytime by pulling the chain inside the wagon).

If you have glasses/headbands on can you wear one of these new hoods too??

Yes. The new stuff is purely cosmetic. There may be clipping with some heads/headbands/lenses, but they'll work (once I fix the module's VFX updating script).mighty moomin wrote:If you have glasses/headbands on can you wear one of these new hoods too??
Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
I went to Shada's to try and get the bald head for the hoods, but it doesn;t seem to work for me, and I am up to date on the downloads.

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
Does changing to any of the other heads work for you?
1. use Select tool on desired head model
2. use the morph head command (while within Shada's Alterations only)
I used it last night with an elven female and it worked. What's your race/gender? Are you using the default phenotype (aka, try using style normal first).

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
Do you mean the VFX hoods, or the shadowed hood helmet items?
The helmet items won't show the faces, but the VFX hoods will. Use the head help vc command to get the info for hoods and hats

head hood xxxx where x is black doesn't appear. All other colors do...and the hood doesn't stay on either.

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
Hopefully the next planned reset will fix the non-cycling of the vfx hoods/hats (it supposed to show for 30 seconds, then the module's 1-minute cycle should take over).
Strange that black doesn't appear for you. It was working fine for me (other than not remaining in place) last night for me.

Maybe it was working and it just cycled through...and didn't stay.

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
Yup, they work.
I however am getting the black hood problem as well for a couple of my characters (ones so far, hafling male, and human male). All the other colors show up, just not the black hood.
Another thing I noticed... on my hafling male, the hoods (the other colors that show up) sits rather low and large... at least compared to the other races. Not a bad thing actually.... it's kinda nice how it covers up the eyes unless the camera is panned down low... made me wonder though if for some odd reason hafling males are getting a larger race's hood applied to them, as none of the other races have the hoods concealing as much of the face or sit as low on the character model.

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
Visible face with hood: awesome!
Just one request.... more bald head options, specifically with facial hair. The one bald head that has a goatee like I want is too narrow in the face/cheeks, and Gabriel's RDD horns protude too much and you can see the red scales in the side of his face, and the hood cant cover it.

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
I don't currently have plans for more of the bald heads, but...
I am working on multiple types of facial hair as an option with the new system. Yes, dwarven women will even have the option of growing out a proper full beard.
Also in the works for this "customizing system": hair (for the head), facial jewelry, scars, vampire fangs, eyes, more headwear, masks & veils.
Just have to figure out why the halfling hoods are messing up before I get to work on everything else.

Re: Jan. 30: Additions in the Works
Maybe then.... a toggle vc command for the 'facial' horns?(the head ones are kind of a must for 10 levels of RDD, I dont think yer supposed to be able to hide those).

I'd like to second this idea. My Dragonsoul PC has the 'red scale face' problem too. It kinda makes her look like she's got icky face sores or something, like the horns just burst through her skin and never quite healed up.

It's the reason I switched Ailish from bard/RDD to bard/firestarter... on her the horns look like she has a massive facial tumor bigger than her own head lol
