Feb. 5, 2012: Pre-Programmed Encounter Additions
I've started adding some code that allows me to start up little pre-programmed semi-random encounters while in-game. I can log in as DM, enter a VC command, and a specific set of random encounters will start up (until a server reset or I log in and cancel them).
An example of this (which I just started up a few minutes ago): Orc scouting parties. Randomized groups of lower level orcs appearing in areas they normally aren't found. These will be in outdoor areas, but are quite random...there's a 67% chance that an extra encounter variable is added to an outdoor area, with a 20% chance that it's the one for any one particular of these new encounters, and they have a 90% chance of spawning when a PC enters the area (if I've activated that encounter scenario). And the randomization changes each server reset.

That does sound pretty cool! Will other DMs have access to that, or is it just in your bag of tricks? Would be nice to be able to pop in and set something like that up ...

It will be available for other DMs as well. I just want to add a few more options before posting the commands in the DM thread.

This is great adds some additional fun to an already great place. I was luck enough to be online during the Orc incursion and managed to destroy a couple of camps in Silver leaf.

Sooo ... not to necromance up some dead threads, but did this idea ever get implemented? (I just now looked through all of the DM materials, and found no reference to it.) I know it would be awesome to have as an option to spice things up for players!
