Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
No self-respecting archer carries his or her arrows in a backpack, where it takes forever to dig them out and where the arrows poke holes in everything. Real archers use quivers to keep those deadly projectiles safe and easy to access.
Now, so can the archers in Aenea.
Visible (non-clothing) Quivers:
The most recent hak update includes models for VFX-based quivers. These run off the same system as the hoods, hats, fangs, etc. Just use the VC command head quiver xxxxx (replacing xxxxx with the right color code) to pick your quiver (or head quiver list for an in-game list).
This command adds only the quiver. Arrows are also part of this, but the color of the arrows depend on which arrows you currently have equipped.
And now...pictures:
And more pics, this time of some of the arrows:
Enjoy!

Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
I'll have to look at some of the background code. Might also be an issue with robes/animation styles, since it locks onto the impact node (which may be messed/rotated in some robes or phenotypes).
Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
Get the bug with this sorted out and I can see it being used alot... ace !!
Hell in my opinion, it should be automatic upon equiping either A) a bow ~ with empty quiver~ or B) any form of arrow ..... !!
....I don't know if anyone here has ever played "Bloodrayne" (an old PS2 vampire-nazi game) but the main heroine could carry an awful asrenal of guns, and you had to just think (as with any RPG etc) how in the hell does she hold all that?... A cheat code for the game would show all the weapons locations on her when they were "stored"... it looked ace, getting something like that... ###.... I don't why this reminded of that or where I was going with this comment but thought I'd leave it here ~~ that what happens when you leave mid-post to sort out the baby-monster !!~~

Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
I dunno if it has to do with the ACP styles and/or robes. I was playing around with the quivers on all my characters last night, and I'd get the "gut arrows" problem with every style, default bio clothing as well as CEP robes. Angar, my beasty orc, at first his quiver was on his back. But the moment I attacked something, the quiver jumped down to his gut.
I played around with swapping his combat styles and removing. re-adding the quiver... and there was some combination in that which put the quiver back on his shoulder, and kept it there while attacking stuff though. I didn't stay up long enough to figure out what the exact sequence was

Bonus to content change with this newest hak that I forgot to mention in first post:
Spell Scrolls: These have gone from 1/10 of a pound to 0 pounds in weight, which should help those characters that are walking libraries.

Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
Another quirk with the quivers...
When I logged in Ash just now (who has a black quiver and uses acid arrows), everyone got green arrows on them (but no quivers). When I logged out, they all lost their arrows vfxs. When I logged back in, they got them again. When I unequipped the arrows, they lost their vfx arrows.
Seems that when the script cycles through and checks for my arrows, it goes and applies them to everyone, not just me.

Ah, thank ye. That makes me think of a possible scripting error I may have made to cause that. Good thing I've got the toolset open right now...
Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
Couldn't find this mentioned anywhere. But do you know the VFX for the hats (ie. Cavalier and Wizard) are a tad bit low? I think they sit at the same height as the Headband of Intellect, but they should sit higher on the head.

Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
They are a little bit low (it's been mentioned). It was an intentional choice when I made the models (more for protecting the eyes than just a fashion statement), which I might address in the future when I find some more time.
Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
I found that for my winged elf, I kept getting the 'quiver in the gut' problem... the fix seemed to be "style fly" which made my cloak go 'poof', followed by "style normal", and then removing and wearing my cloak again so it would come back. This seemed to work until I relogged... then I got the gut quiver issue again and had to repeat the fix.
Not sure how non-winged race would handle it, as they cant do the 'fly' style.... maybe go jump in some water or something....

Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
I think that has to do with some of the alternate animations. The VFX is anchored to the impact node of your PC's model, and if the node gets rotated during animation and doesn't reset properly, the quiver ends up wrongly positioned.
Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
Heh this would be a cool idea for dagger belts as well....a bandolier of daggers for those throwing dagger fiends
Course...youd have to have like ...a bandolier of 100, leg holster of 50(each leg), upper arms of 50 each, neck bandolier....sigh to represent spyder
ya can hear her party members upon seeing her....
*Ok who cast blade barrier?!*

I dont think it is based on the animation style, actually. Lucian was and always has used the 'normal' style. He gets the gut quiver in normal.... in order to fix it, the alternate styles come into play, but they are not required for the bug to manifest.

Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
Seems there is an even simpler fix:
1. Remove Cloak.
2. Wear Cloak.

2. Wear Cloak.

Re: Mar. 12: Archer Fashion
Pattern seems to be thus:
1. Log in after a reset, quiver VFX has become inactive.
2. Enter 'head quiver xxxxx ', quiver is attached to stomach.
3. Change style to something that will not show cloak (ie. go underwater, mount a horse, etc), and quiver will move back to shoulder.
4. Change style/animation back to normal. Quiver stays on shoulder, cloak still not visible.
5. Remove cloak, then wear cloak. Quiver stays on shoulder and cloak becomes visible again.
6. Rest/renewal triggers quiver on stomach again.
7. Remove cloak, quiver moves back to shoulder. Wear cloak again, quiver stays on shoulder and cloak becomes visible again.
