Messy Desktop!?!?
...Not me!
Above: After I changed the background color and click on my Utilities button (Server Icon with the fire). Most of the other Icons expand like that too.
I'm using a Program called RK Launcher. I'll post the links in General Chat and I'll write up a small tutorial on how to use it (Sometime after work) for anyone interested (Since there is a lack of documentation with it.) I came across it while trying to find new Themes for Vista.
It has a lot of features. It can act as a taskbar with icons minimizing to it. It also animates (zooming in). Those are Icons I created/edited for myself.

Re: Messy Desktop!?!?
Haha holy crap I would lose my mind looking at that. I couldn't stand seeing desktops like that when I use to repair them. I think I even went as far as to reorganize it for them, lol. But step one was always replacing the IE shortcut to firefox.
How come you don't organize projects inside folders. Like making all those content folders into subdirectories of a single Content folder. Yikes...maybe I'm just OCD or something.

Re: Messy Desktop!?!?
It's been done before, Alundaio, and will be again, eventually.
A few of those on the desktop are "compilation" folders, with other folders of work within them. I do a lot of work on a lot of different files, and each little (or big) project adds more. I work off the desktop, since it saves me several clicks since I don't have to navigate through folders to get at what I'm working on. There's only so many files various programs will keep in the "recently opened" lists, and I tend to have stuff pushed off those lists within a day or two.
Maybe someday I'll have the time to sit down and go Super-Organizer on all of my NWN stuff. Maybe.

Re: Messy Desktop!?!?
Whilst my desktop is nearly empty.... I'm a folder junkie... layers upon layers upon layers of folders.. all branching from a main titled folder... currently at the in-laws at the moment so I can't screenie my desktop, but it often takes me around 8 or 9 clicks to get to a file I want..... and thats not to mention the layered web of folder-folder "sidestep" shortcuts.... If I wanted to I think I could go around my entire PC without seeing my desktop for days.... .... ... !!

Is it just me, or does it strike anyone else that should have long ago recolore his desktop background picture to be shades of purple?

Hey, I like dark purples, but not everything has to be purple. I find the green flames rather striking.
The funny thing is, when I made that wallpaper image, all my icons fit in the side and bottom "boxes", with enough space for another 3-4 icons.

Re: Messy Desktop!?!?
That's kind of neat. Similar to my previous setup. I like to have folders branching off from my desktop for certain things, too.
But for some reason I can't stand having a quick launch bar.

Amen. Hate those damn things. They eat up space on my taskbar, when I could use my start menu or a desktop shortcut for the same purpose.
