Quick Questions Re: Exotic Weapons & Playtime

Hi there everyone,

I downloaded all the necessary files for Aenea last night, so I hope to make my entrance into the world after work today. This, of course, leads me to thinking of what type of character I would like to play. Now I am far from a "power gamer"; but I would definitely call myself a "concept gamer" and some concepts I have come up with involve my character using an Exotic Weapon (Like Dwarf Barbarian Dual-Wielding Dwarven Waraxes).

So here is the question, how common are Exotic Weapons in Aenea? Will having a concept which makes heavy use of one be something that "gimps" me in the long run, or are they accessible at an acceptable rate to add to a concept like the one above?

As far as the weapons go, I'm not sure about the Dwarven Waraxes, but I have seen many types of exotic weapons, both as creature drops and merchant offerings. I think that they're available enough so that you won't be dis-servicing yourself or your character. I could be wrong, though! I have been before, and I'm sure I will be again!

One interesting thing about this place is ye can get custom item rewards fer time spent adventurin....

Just think... yer very own set of axes... "Limbhacker & Lifetaker"...ahhh... the stuff of legends....

This here place were all about havin a good adventure time... if ye find ye made an error in judgement early on... folks in a position ter correct it fer ye are more than willin ter help ye out.

No, you will be able to get the weapons you want in several ways. The "Player reward" items actually allow you to customize what you want. If you downloaded the module, you can open it in toolset, and see for yourself what you would be able to do with a Dwarven Waraxe for the 20K, 40K, or 80K rewards. Be sure you read ADs restrictions on what is allowed though.

There are also "weapon customization" crystals in the game, but I don't know much about them, the important thing to know is you can indeed choose the Waraxe and not "gimp" yourself!

At least I think so, I am still new here myself, but with an active, committed GM and DM, I doubt they will leave you hanging!

Yes, there are exotic weapons available, and the dwarven waraxe is a fine one indeed. I can think of one right off the top of my head you can find in the city of Macedone that is unique to Aenea.

To be honest, I have been lurking for days, so I shouldn't be surprised by the amount of helpful people who have responded to this thread already, but I cannot help but to be astounded by the friendly atmosphere and welcome; these last few hours of work are going to seem alot longer knowing I am going home to join this community.

I hate to go off-topic here in my own post, but figured it was better than cluttering the boards with another New Aenea Player Question.

What are the more "active" hours/days on the server? (and of course, what timezone for those hours?)

Are there specific "event" days or is it always awesome?

Aenea is pretty much active at any hour, its slighty better at the weekends but Aenea has attracted players from both sides of the states and in England too.. so we pretty much fill the world round the clock..
Keep an eye on the forums for specific events and contests.. not everthing is in the game world.. AD runs a few unique contests such as "Area Design".. ..
I'll glady assist with anything you have questions on that I know of and can answer truthfully.
