New Spells: Thorns, Wall of Thorns
Thorns
School: Transmutation
Level: Druid 2, Sorc/Wiz 3
Innate Level: 2
Components: Verbal, Somatic
Range: Personal
Target: Self
Duration: 1 Round/ Caster Level
Saving Throw: Harmless
Spell Resistance: No
Description:
The caster molds plants around them into a form of shield of thorns. These thorns do 1d4 piercing damage to anyone that strikes the caster. This spell can only be cast while outdoors and cannot be cast while underwater and the effects will end if the caster goes inside or underwater.
//Notes: Kinda a druids form of Death Armor, though a non-exotic type of damage and far more limited in application. I figured it'd be best to extend it over to Wiz/Sorc, though they really don't *need* another damage shield.... Also, I'd suggest allowing the 'Thorn' item to be used as a material component for both of these spells.
Wall of Thorns
School: Conjuration
Spell Level: Druid 5
Components: Verbal, Somatic
Range: Medium
Target: Location
Duration: 1 Round/2 Caster Levels
Saving Throw: Reflex for 1/2
Spell Resistance: Yes
Description:
The druid calls forth the plants around them to form a wall of thorns at a targeted location. Any creatures that walk through the wall will take 5d8 piercing damage and will have their movement speed slowed by 30% for 3 rounds. A reflex save will half the damage, but the slowing effect cannot be negated, as the thick vegetation is hard to manuever through.
