Using Crystals on Gloves

Hello All,

Can crystals be used to add elemental damage to monk gloves. My monk needs a bit of help in the damage department....

I'm pretty sure they can since gloves are considered a weapon when worn and not armor. Try it out, if it doesn't work I can and will give you a replacement crystal since I have so many I don't know what to do with them.

My Monk says otherwise. Just be careful with what crystals you try to use on your gloves.

Actually they do....on occasion. As i did it on sh'issar's gloves sometime back. i think its just a random thing with the game code. But heres her gauntlets she wears They are a base of those vampiric gloves bought from that vampire merchant guy with bat wings...i just renamed em then went to town with crystals. It took me 4 tries before i got all of the crystals to take right. Still y ou can see where i had one crystal dupe on it with acid.

I believe the actual issue is that in nwn there are *gloves* and *gauntlets* gauntlets i believe are what monks utilize with dmg (according to the game engine)and gloves wont take the dmg boost.

They make her.....painful in battle

The two types of item for the hands are 'Bracers' and 'Gauntlets'.

Gloves count as gauntlets.

Bracers are considered a type of armor, and do not accept damage or attack properties. They can accept AC boosts , etc.

Gauntlets and gloves should work fine for the crystals.

In my experience, if a monk uses elemental crystals on a set of gloves, they get the damage bonus; if a non-monk, they get damage resistance
