Dead Stalker Turn Question
Do the potential 15 levels of turn undead power stack with Pally/Cleric levels for the purposes of Planar Turning?
Also, are the denizens of the Dark Realm properly marked as Outsiders for the purposes of Turning?

Re: Dead Stalker Turn Question
I can't find the post to confirm, but I do believe that DS levels DO stack with paladin/cleric levels, BUT, they stack at a 1:1 ratio, as opposed to the 3:1 ratio for non cleric-paladins.
As for undead and planar turning, they aren't "outsiders", but planar turning has been tweaked to turn "demon" racial types, so yes... it works for them.

Re: Dead Stalker Turn Question
MannyJabrielle is correct on the stacking.
Planar turning does work, but the Dead Stalker's turning ability is not supposed to stack with cleric/paladin levels for it (since demons, celestials, and other outsiders are not undead).

Re: Dead Stalker Turn Question
Silly question ... but does Planar Turning work on demons in the Dark Realm ?... As I see it you use Planar Turning to turn a demon from the material realm to go "back home" .. but they are "home" in the Dark Realm ?? ....

Re: Dead Stalker Turn Question
It does, but it's a lot less effective, especially against more powerful demons.RustyDios wrote:Silly question ... but does Planar Turning work on demons in the Dark Realm ?... Re: Dead Stalker Turn Question
How much less effective, or rather, what's the modified turning check mechanics?

Re: Dead Stalker Turn Question
For planar turning, the outsider's/demon's HD is counted as their actual Hit Dice + 1/2 their spell resistance. In the Dark Realm, it's their actual Hit Dice + their full spell resistance.
Re: Dead Stalker Turn Question
Point of clarification: I am not sure i know what you mean with regard to the ratios. My feeble mind seems to be struggling.
So if i am a lvl 26 Pally, I turn as a lvl 23 Cleric. If I understand you correctly, my 5 levels of DS would only contribute an additional 5 levels of turning ability rather than 15 levels as it would if I used the semi-classes ability without any other turn class.
Is this correct-ish?
