Durable & Dangerous
This is my character Adamant. He's built completely around the concept of durability and beating on things until they die. He can take a beating and survive (his AC isn't super high). Definitely not an optimized build as far as AC or BAB goes, just thematic.
Monk 26 / Ranger 4 / Ironheart 10
Ironheart levels grant him:
+10 natural AC
Immunity to Disease
Immunity to Poison
Immunity to Knockdown
Immunity to Sneak Attacks
Immunity to Critical Hits
High Fortitude saving throws
Ranger levels grant:
Ambidexterity
Two-Weapon Fighting (+1 attack/round)
Improved Two-Weapon Fighting (+1 attack/round)
+4 BAB (ranger levels taken pre-epic)
Monk levels grant:
Luck of Heroes
Deflect Arrows
Diamond Soul (Spell Resistance 36)
Evasion - Improved Evasion
Tumble as class skill (43 ranks = +8 AC)
Monk AC (+4 to AC with 19 Wis)
Monk Speed increase
Perfect Self (immunity to mind-affecting spells, damage reduction 20/+1)
Wholeness of Body (heal self up to 52 hp once/day)
Cleave - Great Cleave
Knockdown - Improved Knockdown
Weapon Focus: Kama (+1 to attack rolls)
Improved Critical: Kama
Monk unarmed attack rate with kama
Flurry of Blows (+1 attack/round)
Overwhelming Critical: Kama (+1d6 damage on critical)
Devastating Critical: Kama (F.DC: 48 or instant death if victim is not crit-immune)
Stats at 40th level (no stat buys: base / with equipment):
Str: 34 / 46
Dex: 16 / 18
Con: 10 / 14
Int: 10 / 10
Wis: 17 / 19
Cha: 13 / 15
Notable Equipment (none is DM-augmented):
belt of dragon strength (+10 Str)
ring of armoring air (+5 AC deflection)
amulet of health (+4 Con = +80 hitpoints)
ring of power (+1 regeneration, freedom of movement, cold/fire/electrical resistance 15)
boots of the underdog (+3 AC dodge)
sunglory champion's ruby bracer (won in a DM-sponsored event long ago, +8 AC armor)
magical leather pants (custom voucher item, +2 regeneration)
dual vampire's fang kamas (each: +5 enhancement, +3 vampiric regeneration, keen)
ioun stones (+2 Dex, +1 AC, +2 Wis, +2 Str, +2 Cha, +1 attack rolls/saves/skills)
No cloak or helmet currently. Such items just don't look right on him (he looks like a heavily muscled guy made of metal).
In the end he has:
+3/round regeneration (constant)
up to +27/round vampiric regeneration (+3 vampiric regen. x 9 attacks/round using Flurry of Blows)
attack rolls when flurrying: +47/+44/+41/+38/+35/+32/+29 and +47/+44
critical threat range 18-20 (not to bad with 9 chances/round for a dev. crit.)
AC: 60
Saves: Fortitude +30 / Reflex +27 / Will +29
Immunity to almost everything
No re-leveling involved. 95% of my characters I end up junking the relevel scales as soon as they show up in my inventory. Some choices aren't optimal, but that's life.
