Curiosity Question: What's your FPS name?
I've been playing a little bit of Call of Duty: Black Ops (which my wife got me for xmas back in December). Looking at some people's names/handles/tags/whatever, you start to wonder where they come up with these things.
So, for those that play FPS (first person shooter) games, what name(s) do you use? And where's you come up with it?
Me: Being a total FPS noob (and well aware of my anticipated survival rate on multiplayer), I picked a name that would properly describe me in-game... "Bleeding Out"
Now, back to a little tv watching: Deadliest Warrior (on Spike): Vampire vs. Zombie.

While I do not play any FPS games, I tend to use biblical names for many of my characters; like the meaning of the name, or the deeds of the character may match goals or deeds of mine.

GHost.
It's the first letter of my first name, and the first four letters of my last name. Also lends to the fact that I tend to play a sniper (which I'm terrible at by comparison to anything involving a shotgun).

Re: Curiosity Question: What's your FPS name?
I tried using a sniper rifle in Black Ops. By the time I lined up a shot, the other guy had moved or got on me to kill me.
Now, I try to stay undetected. Ghost perk (I don't show up on spy plane minimap/radar, so enemies don't know where to come hunting for me), Ninja perk (silent footsteps, so they don't hear me moving around corners before I know they're there), and a Supressor (so my gunfire doesn't make me stand out on enemy minimap/radar, again so they don't have a target location on where to find me). I consider it good if I die less than twice for every kill I make.
Years ago I worked at an internet company, where the CEO had the tech guys install Half-Life (Team Fortress mod) on many of our computers (and ran it on a spare machine in the server room), so he'd have people to play against after formal work hours. The CEO never used anything but a crowbar in his killing sprees. For that time period, I used the names "Dead Meat", "Walking Corpse", and "Helpless Victim".

Re: Curiosity Question: What's your FPS name?
I dislike the FPS genre; main reason being that I find it so boring.
That doesn't mean I haven't played a few of the games though, I did, once upon a time...once or twice...as teenager. >.>
If I recall correctly, I simple mirrored my first name (which came out Roht)..very simple, no meaning to it at all.
...it does leave a clue as to what my real name is though.
If you haven't figured it out I'll give one last hint!

Thor? That is rockin', bro!
Aenea is the first game that I ever played online, so I don't have any kind of a handle - we only own a Wii at our house, and no internet connection with it. If I did play, a name would probably be some derivative of "atrophy" or "history".

Diochs - Part last name, part name of the greatest rocker that ever rocked.
I imagine that it's hubris to associate my name with his, but I've used that handle since at least 2000...

Manny Jabrielle
The Manaanii Pirate
The Pirate
It is a VERY rare event that I find the "Manny Jabrielle" name already taken... so that's the top pick.

Just about everything I play has a Rayven Nightkind or some semblance thereof in it, from here to online FPS to DDO and Warcraft they all get a ol' Ray

Re: Curiosity Question: What's your FPS name?
Lomax. Derived from the concept of "low deathcount, maximum kills". Low-Max.
Usually with some numbers after it. I love FPS games, and am decently nasty at them
Unreal Tournament (the original) still has a permanent place on my hard drive. Halo is also a keeper on my Xbox, have all 3 of the main games. I liked call of Duty, dont get me wrong... but for my money, the game that nothing else has ever come close to as far as FPS.... Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Its a tactical shooter, and its *awesome*. You can literally die from a stray bullet if you arent careful and dont play tactically. And teamwork is HUGE when hunting terrorists. The AI is very smart and aggressive. The lower difficulties will let you get a feel for what youre up against and will, over time, teach you what you need to survive. Once you get good, the higher difficulties offer a consistent and very challenging experience.
I have played a lot of FPS.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the best FPS I have ever played. Period.
