Having a Baby

Hello fellow Aeneans ... I must regret to inform you all that Jay will not be in the world for a while..
.. this is because I will be at my on-off girlfriends house with our first baby.. .. and her PC's an archaic machine that don't even meet the minimum req's for NWN.. .. needless to say it does have internet access (albeit v..e..r..y s..l..o..w) so I will try to keep up with the forums however I suspect I will also be very busy.. as I write this she is currently 3cm dilated and contracting every 2 hrs.. and honestly at this moment in time I'd rather actually be Jay standing in-front of three ancient reds, 2 demi-liches, 1000 balors and a room full of beholder tyrants... ... as Jay will recieve less of a punishing time and less pain then I will with a woman in labour " just holding my hand".. .. I'm sure any who have been there can sympathise with the plight I am about to endure (let alone her pain, I'm not sexist)... lol
.. I will update the thread when I know what we have, weight, healthy etc etc..
.. and I must say it is a pleasure to share this with you all...

Congratulations, you are about to set off on quite an adventure (that one known as "parenthood").

Congrats, RustyDios! It's a fine, fine time in your life, having a child - the unconditional love of a tiny baby (or semi-tiny, like ours) is a truly incredible experience, indeed!

So far, of all the things I have done in my life, the decision to have children (well, the older two, anyways - Lu and Jen were kinda accidental, but certainly no less welcome) was the best decision of my life - hands down!

And yes, I agree - no fantasy/mythic monster can hold a candle to a delivering woman! Positively no contest!

Ok guys .. my thanks to you for your kind words, from myself and my on-off girlfriend... a baby boy was born this morning.. 11/09/08 (or 09/11/08 for most of you guys.. I'll clear this up .. the 11th of Septermber 2008) at 08:19... weighing 8lbs 2 ozs.. 48 hours of gruelling labour.. my hands hurt but I suspect that pain is nothing in comparison to hers.. .. now I happen to have been awake since my last post here so with the mid-wives carefully looking after her and the new boy.. and with them kicking me off the ward an hour ago to go home I may just be retireing to bed.. .. needless to say his actual name is JAYden.. and as you all may have guessed he has been on my mind (in its odd way of working) every night for quite some months... I'm not 100% sure when I'll next get time-spare to visit Aenea and I hope I do still get some time... minimum I will try to keep up with the forums... ... thanks again and my apolygise for this long and mis-spelt post but I am truely exhausted.. ... hope to see you all soon... woo-hoo

My best advice (as if you'd want it) is to learn to sleep while standing up while not dropping what you are carrying. For me it wasn't even a choice learn this :-)
