The Society of Adventurers' Academy: In Progress
Since the Firehair clan's construction has begun on the new academy of the Society of Adventurers, it's time to post some pictures of the work in progress.

Please don't take this as rushing you, , but any kind of ETA for when the SoAA will be operational? I dig the screenshots, it is absolutely wunderbar to see this location go from the conceptual to the completed.
Yet another reason why Aenea is the best, as far as I'm concerned!

No set ETA. Just adding pieces as I get toolset time, with at least a few days in between for peeps to look at the progress in-game if they want.

So the Firehair clan's secret magical levitational skyhook crane is actually a purple dragon. Lazy dwarves.

Yup.Ramana Jala wrote:So the Firehair clan's secret magical levitational skyhook crane is actually a purple dragon. Lazy dwarves.
The problem with the dragon is, he eats his weight in gems--so very expensive to make use of for the dwarves and therefore likely used sparingly and in as few days possible to avoid financial ruin.

Re: The Society of Adventurers' Academy: In Progress
I see that the Firehair Clan have been busy working on the SoAA while Fren was visiting her homelands.
As I recall there was discussion at one point of making the equivalent of a community echest (for persistence between resets) which folks could donate stuff into on an honor system basis. Is this still in the works?
Is the Firehair Clan finished, or is there still yet more to come?

Re: The Society of Adventurers' Academy: In Progress
The Firehair clan of dwarves has not worked on the Academy in quite some time.
As far as the donation chest, I just kind of dropped the ball on that particular suggestion. Thanks for the reminder.

I guess that goes to show how long I've been out of commission...
Last time I went there, if I recall correctly, it was not yet an enterable structure.

Its come along - the framework and much of the furnishings are there.
Now its inhabitants, functionality (merchants, etc), and other 'polish'.

Re: The Society of Adventurers' Academy: In Progress
Regarding donation chest. Can we have the storage set up as persistent like a ethereal chest, please?
It would really stink to find a good but rare item for a lowbie, donate it on a slow day, and have it not be there when others log in after a reset...

Re: The Society of Adventurers' Academy: In Progress
Maybe its possible to set up such with an NPC? like a persistent store inventory that buys and sells things for only 1 gold each?
I picture a cram packed room of junk and a 'keeper'

Re: The Society of Adventurers' Academy: In Progress
Why not have Arkon move his little store into the academy.. and have an "anyone can use this ethereal chest" option that summons a chest ?
Maybe have it linked to Arkon himself ((for the purpose of how I think the database save function needs a "unique name")) but somehow still accessible by players ??
I mean Smitty moved his store into the leaf market?.. So why wouldn't Arkon want to move, I mean he IS a very unique Werewolf-Wolfblood-Man-Thingi after all.... ..

Re: The Society of Adventurers' Academy: In Progress
LoW's AF has a "community chest" that persists across resets.... worked quite nicely too. Yeah, high levels sometimes dumped a super item into there, but most of the time, it would be a decent stock of healing potions, protective potions (neg-energy protection was very important for lowbies), summon scrolls, low end common magical goods.... And the players generally respected it's use and didn't abuse it.
I would encourage that for Aenea, even if the chest was made to sell the stuff for a fixed amount.
Persistent player shops would be nice too for a way to offload high end loot across multiple resets.

Re: The Society of Adventurers' Academy: In Progress
I add my vote for this persistent chest for donations to lowbies. This is just the sort of thing that my civically-minded ranger would do, keep the donations for the novices and the needy stocked. And that would certainly help her disgorge those bags that she keeps specifically for donations to newcomers.
[In fact, Ramana thinks that there should be a soup kitchen/clinic in Macedone (Harbor), complete with donation chest and healer, for the alley rats and poor. Hm... now that I voice it, I think that's where some of her RP might be going... and I could design that area....]
