Jan. 7, 2018: Progress in Tradeholm
The town of Tradeholm has had some progress over the years. With money from constant trade, the help of skilled craftspeople, and the aid of a local wizard, the town has turned into a small city and it has gained stronger defenses to deter orcs or others from attacking.
So...yeah. I added a new tileset (Zwerkule's Medieval City) and figured Tradeholm would be the first place to use it. Ended up taking two days to completely build the area from scratch, trying to match up the general shape of the way it was so that it would seem more like the town changed over time.
There's updated aeneahak_u.hak and aeneahak_updates.hak files today. Yes, four days after the last one. What can I say? When you gotta build, you gotta build. Plus, the updates one fixes a 2da file that I missed some info in when merging in the newest CEP data.
I'm trying to have the "cities" go with different looks. Tradeholm will now use the Medieval City tileset, Calithia uses a desert city tileset, Macedone uses my reskinned city tileset (so does Tesh, but with darker lighting and the more ominous evil castle section), and Mountainholm Castle uses the Castle Exterior/TNO set (as does Alatha, but that one is ruined, dark, and foggy).

By the way, a possibly important note for everyone else.... if you had teleport slots attuned in Tradeholm... you don't anymore.

Ah, crap, yeah. A consequence of me actually making a whole new area.daveyeisley wrote:By the way, a possibly important note for everyone else.... if you had teleport slots attuned in Tradeholm... you don't anymore.
Re: Jan. 7, 2018: Progress in Tradeholm
If it had been an area that is difficult and/or time consuming to travel to (or multiple such areas), then I think would be a good chance of significant objections/complaints - but, depending on the change(s), if there was a cool or valuable incentive to re-explore it, that would certainly mitigate or eliminate them.
I doubt anybody had more than one slot attuned there, and its not terribly difficult to travel there if one is already capable of teleportation, so in this case it isn't likely to be a big deal for anybody.

Yah, I don't believe I had any set for Tradeholm ... haven't really been there since Aurora tried to whack Mr. E. Cheese!
