Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
Don't know how possible it would be, but the ability to rearrange my Wizard's spellbook would be awesome. I say this because the spellbook lists the spells in the order you learn them. So if you want your spellbook in a particular order, you have to learn them in that order. That's not always a viable option. (Sure, you can always hold off, but I find that a tad impractical).
I'm thinking something along the lines of this. Understand that this is roughly speaking, as I do not know anything about NWScript.
;;tool wizard book X (X being the spell level you are referring to)

Find the Second Spell Slot in Level X
(Swap the two in the list)

Re: Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
Doesn't work that way.
There was a project someplace else that allowed LETO and NWNx to swap out quickbars, and to swap out memorized spell sets, but I'm not sure it was ever released to the public.

Re: Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
I wouldn't have made this suggestion without having seen it done, because I would not have even guessed that it would be possible.
I don't know how they managed it, but I have seen a system on another server that does this.

Re: Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
Yeah LETO or NWNx would be my guess for any possibility of this. The spells known are stored in the PC's .bic file, and LETO/NWNx are the only ways I know of to edit such directly.
As to whether there are pre-built functions for it, maybe can tell us if he saw any.
If not, and it would require custom functions and also determining how the spellbook information is stored and formatted in the .bic file, then we may not see such a thing for a looooong time.

Re: Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
Re-level scales are your friend here....
Scribe scrolls of all the spells that you know (well scribe/buy/barter) ...
Use re-level scales...
Exit Aenea (possibly NWN also)...
Re-enter Aenea.. now as you level up it should be as though you know nothing, so you can choose to learn your favorite spells (so they be at the top of the lists), level-up COMPLETELY first... then go through your scrolls and add the spells in the order you want....
... Grace has (HAD!) her spellbooks set up in alphabetical order... I'm not sure if this worked for her because she is a Cleric as her 1st class or not, so when I log out it looses all that useless wizard info or not. It might take some time but it's worth trying it out.... .... ...
Oh, and a custom tool to "burn your spellbook" would be cool too.... ....

Re: Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
Yes, Cleric being your first class would likely be the reason. My Wizard, who is releveling currently after reincarnation, has not needed to relearn spells that he previously learnt through scrolls, only the ones that were not learned before I reincarnated or that I had taken through level up.

Re: Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
I've been trying to learn spells in alphabetical order for my wizard Ranara, but it's only partially successful. I gather all the spell scrolls I can find before the next level-up. Since there's a few different webpages to look through for original spells and Aenea new spells, and I'm not that familiar with wizardry here in Aenea yet, I sometimes miss some. And since some are scarce as IG scrolls, I have to choose the rare ones in level-up or find them much later.
So I thought I'd mention and concur that I've long thought how incredibly helpful it would be if there were some script for alphabetizing these character spellbook lists.

Re: Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
I'll see what I can do, but it would be a long time off. NWNX with the nwnx_funcs plugin (which Aenea uses) might allow it, but it would take extensive scripting to work out things checking which spells are known, converting those to text (the game stores/references them as numbers), figuring out how to alphabetize them, removing them all from a PC, then re-adding ever single one in the right order (without messing up a character in the process).
Re: Rearranging my Wizard Spellbook
I wasn't necessarily meaning all in alhpabetical order (though that would be a welcome change from what it is now).
I was thinking along the lines of using the first two memorized spells of the specified spell circle in your spellbook and then swapping the location of them in the list. This should, at least in theory, be a little easier to code, whilst allowing for the most customization (a person who wants it in alphabetical order could do so, and a person who wants their most common spells at the top could also do the same)
