In-game music vs. External music
Curious to know how many players play their own music vs. the in-game music while playing NWN?
If you do, what do you like to listen to?
My picks:
#1 "Classical" music (non-specific)
#2 Baroque era music
#3 Modern/Contemporary composers (non hollywood)
#4 Entertainment compositions (movies, tv, etc)
#5 "Quick Mix" from my Pandora stations (includes none of the above but represents a cross section of all of my "other" preferred genres/bands). Primary preferences in the station's composition are: Electronica (all genres), Industrial (all genres), Metal (many genres), Dubstep (all genres), Ambient (all genres), Psychedelia, Dance/Synth Pop
Been a subscribing member of Pandora since launch and constantly struggling with the 100 station limit. As a side note, if anyone knows a community portal for Pandora I'd love to know it, I have many many thoughts on how the service could be improved.

Re: In-game music vs. External music
I have the game music off most all the time.
I usually listen to my own playlists at YouTube that are tailored to my characters, or to my own music on my computer, and either choice contains a great range of genres from classical (esp. classical guitar) to progressive rock to smooth jazz and nuevo flamenco.
I love Pandora, but it makes me a little crazy because it often distracts me by playing some interesting new song it chose according to the format of my tastes, which I just have to stop everything to discover the title of, lol.

Re: In-game music vs. External music
Personally, for the last couple of years, I have played with the sound completely off - that way I could listen for little ones on the move. However, since my littlest one is pushing 5, I have been using sound more and more. Not really outside music, though, pretty much just the game sounds.

Re: In-game music vs. External music
Sound off for me 90% of the time.. or if not extremely low...
I usually play when the rest of the house is in bed asleep, and as such need to be able to hear everything at home from upstairs... occasionally I get the chance to NOT have to watch the kids and play, in which I opt for headphones and the ambient background music only which makes a real nice difference to remember what the NWN sounds is like...

Re: In-game music vs. External music
In game music usually very low, in game sound and voice normal.
iTunes sometimes, I wear wireless headphones so I don't have to worry about disturbing anyone unless I am voice chatting on ventrilo.
There are a few YouTube playlists I have been using intermittently, but I have found a new joy in high quality orchestral video game soundtracks.
Games have come so far in their musical composition, and while not every track of every games soundtrack is excellent, there are usually at least a handful of truly inspired and emotionally cathartic pieces.
I have been mostly impressed with the music of the Halo games, and the mass effect games, and an odd handful of tracks from elsewhere.
