I've been meaning to make this one for a long time now, and this month's CCC gives me a good reason to push it out for the community and for Aenea.  Y'all know I don't take my D&D 100% seriously...

I'm making that D&D classic, the Flail Snail.

I've got the shell done so far tonight.  Now onto the fleshy body and bludgeoning tentacles. Smile

More work done while I cruise on the treadmill...

Body started.  What's done so far will become a stretchy skinmesh.  I need to do up the tentacles still, then put parts inside that will move the body around.

I also redid the coloration of the shell to bring it more in line with PnP.

I finished it!  Messed up the animations the other night, redid them all from scratch tonight (I was better organized this time).

Here's a simple toolset screenshot to show the snail's size and shininess of the shell.

This fella will get added to Aenea with the next hak update.  I went ahead and whipped up a couple other snails just for Aenea as well (smaller and recolored, not pictured).

The smaller rainbow snails looks like they could be quite a delicacy for gnomish cooks! Who knows, maybe a gnomish cook will send low level adventurers to gather snails for him/her in a nearby future! XD

Snails are on hold for a while.  For some reason they render in the toolset, but not in the game.  Still investigating.

I may have, but I've put them on the back burner until I can devote several solid hours to re-animating them from scratch while not distracted by other NWN stuff or that pesky "real life" thing.

I like how they look, but I spent way too many hours on them only for them to not render in-game.

I guess it might be time to dust off those files and take another stab at them.  Maybe a fresh look will be what helps.
