Oct. 21, 2013: Barbarian Animal Totems
Later today (Oct. 21), I'm going to be putting out a hak/tlk update. I just need to finish up adding some information to the aenea.tlk file.
Included in the hak update will be a new set of feats for barbarians of level 6+...animal totems.
There are nine possible totems. One totem can be "chosen" at a time, which is done with the feat itself.
When an animal totem is "chosen", it adds to the effects of that barbarian's rage. For example, if a barbarian has the Lion totem feat and "chooses" it, when the barbarian goes into a rage, he/she also gains a +2 bonus to Charisma for the duration of the rage.
Ability bonuses from animal totems will stack with everything, just like the bonuses to Strength and Constitution gained from rage.
I will be adding a few items that grant totem feats in the next week or so (amulet/ring/cloak/helm/boots/etc.), so barbarians won't have to spend all their spare feats just to have access to these.
The Totems:
Bear: The bear is a symbol of resilience and rejuvenation, especially after waking from hibernation in the spring.
(regeneration 1/round - changes to regeneration 3/round during spring months)
Deer: The deer is a graceful and agile creature, able to move through forests and grasslands with ease.
(+2 Dexterity)
Hawk: The hawk is an alert and incredibly focused hunter, spotting prey from afar and seeking it out with determination.
(+5 Discipline, +5 Spot)
Lion: Born to power, the lion is a symbol of leadership and confidence.
(+2 Charisma)
Panther: The panther treads stealthily and quickly through the forests under the moons.
(+3 Hide, +33% movement rate in natural areas during the night)
Raven: The raven is a creature of incredible curiosity and intelligence.
(+2 Intelligence)
Shark: The shark is a tenacious and single-minded creature of the deep, swimming directly to it's goals.
(+3 Will saves)
Turtle: Durable and patient, the turtle is well known for it's ability to survive against many predators.
(+2 natural Armor Class, -33% movement rate)
Wolf: The wolf is a social creature that excels in tracking and hunting down its prey.
(+5 Listen, +5 Search)
