June 22, 2011: Rage of the Barbarian Hordes
Barbarian Rage:
As of now, a barbarian's Rage, Greater Rage, and Mighty Rage abilities no longer fall under the old "+12 to an ability" cap. This means that when enraged, a barbarian's Strength and Constitution scores will increase the full amount (by +4, +6, or +8, respectively), even if he or she has items or spells in effect that raise the same scores.
Items, spells, and other ability-increasing effects are still subject to the +12 cap, but rage ability increases now stack properly with them.
Limitations while enraged (these need to wait until the rage effects are gone):
- no leveling up
- no use of ability-increasing magical books
- no re-leveling
- no reincarnating or ascending
Reincarnation/Ascension:
For the moment, I am disabling Reincarnation and Ascension in-game. This will be a very short term stoppage, as I'm just going to be recoding it using the newer nwnx_funcs scripting and getting rid of the use of (boot-requiring) letoscript for it. This will take several hours of coding work though, as the script that handles both is rather long and detail-filled.
If you were to attempt either while I've got the script closed out, the game would simply teleport you back to Valorian's Vale.

Are you trying to reduce reliance on Letoscript, or is this just some standard streamlining? Inquiring minds ...

Yes, and yes.Eric of Atrophy wrote:Are you trying to reduce reliance on Letoscript, or is this just some standard streamlining? Inquiring minds ...
Almost done with the reincarnation/ascension re-coding. Just have to finish up, then load it onto the server. That'll have to wait several hours though, as I'm taking the kids to the circus tonight. Reducing redundancy eliminated about 300 lines of code.
