Partially Used: Barbarian Rage
So... my barbarian is a half orc, bestial.
this means, out of the gate, he starts with a +4 enhancement to str and con.
Now, I have collected items that bring him to the +12 enhancement cap in both stats.
And because of the ridiculously worthless way that bioware coded in barbarian rage,
coupled with the subrace bonuses being enhancement rather than inherent, my main
class feature now only accomplishes one thing:
lowering my ac by two points.
And taking more levels of barbarian will only net me some minor DR... the increases in barbarian rage
will accomplish squat for me...
At some point, I daresay this is in need of some sort of overhaul, because it makes
a base class significantly inferior... fighters make out better in almost every way...

Re: Partially Used: Barbarian Rage
I have on my list of things to do...working out a way to make subrace stat changes a change to the base ability score. This may eventually involve some funky external software, but I don't know. We'll see.
Re: Partially Used: Barbarian Rage
I know there is a console command that does this:
`dm_setSTR #
`dm_setCON #
where # is the new value.
I would imagine NWScript is capable of scripting console commands. If it is not, I boggle at the implementation.

Re: Partially Used: Barbarian Rage
I know this would be opening a can of worms... but is it possible to alter or remove the enhancement bonus limitation? or more reasonably, have the maximum scale with character level?

Re: Partially Used: Barbarian Rage
Ever get the feeling the devs from Bioware are sitting back chuckling while they count their profits from our purchases, as we repeatedly slam our heads into contrived limitations they chose to code into this game?

Re: Partially Used: Barbarian Rage
The DM console commands work...for a DM. They can't be used in an automatically running script (which I would need to apply the changes automatically when someone choses a subrace).
I'll be investigating alternate methods of changing base ability scores soon.
("soon" is defined as "when I finish up with my current project and pressing bug fixes and my wife and kids give me a couple of hours of free time" )

Re: Partially Used: Barbarian Rage
It makes sense you cant use the exact same syntax... but if the dm console command can create the needed effect, it suggests that there must be some syntax that will allow a script to do the same... the engine can obviously handle it... just need to discover the "how" of it...
Hey, real life comes first, sir. No worries.
