Well hello there!
Just started playing here, really loving it so far. I'll be around as Derustal Ty'Denteril, I think.
Also, quick question. Is there anywhere I can get better details on the subraces? The site seems pretty vague.

Re: Well hello there!
Welcome! It is a great lil world has built isn't it! As far as the sub races go, I'll leave that to someone who knows a bit more than I, as I usually stick to winged, lol. But again, welcome aboard, I think i can speak for everyone when I say we're glad to have ya!

Re: Well hello there!
Welcome to Aenea, DerusTal!
The website has a chart with the best mechanical info available on the sub-races. I am guessing you have already seen it, but just in case, follow this link:
http://www.amethyst-dragon.com/nwn/rules.htm#subraces
If you are looking for more information, I would be happy to answer specific questions not covered by the chart.

Re: Well hello there!
DerusTal,
And now my two bits! I don't know much about sub-races (I always play a straight race), but I did want to pass on a "Welcome to the server!" If you need anything, there are usually a whole buncha helpful folks floating around.
Aenea really is a great place to spend an hour or two or ... well you get the point! Again, welcome aboard!

Re: Well hello there!
Welcome. The information on the page given by daveyeisley is accurate.
You can also also people in-game (particularly if you happen to see me or one of my player characters online).
Good luck!

Thanks, everyone!
One last question, though. Everyone seems to be good aligned. Why is that?

Hi DerusTal, welcome to Aenea!
The reason maybe simply because of player choices and what they find rewarding to play, but I have at least one, uhm, misunderstood character...
However, these are some pretty good threads on the subject:
1. "What's the deal with Alignments?" https://aenea.aforumfree.com/faqs-f4/what-s-the-deal-with-alignment-t33.htm
2. "Important Alignment Tip": https://aenea.aforumfree.com/hints-and-tips-f5/important-alignment-tip-t60.htm
Hope this helps.

Re: Well hello there!
Hello and welcome DerusTal,
Regarding Question one: as well as the information supplied by daveyeisley I believe that in-game during PC Creation you will come to the sub-race room.. the crystals surrounding the room have that information repeated with I think some vague hints about the sub-races (Been a long time since I had a new PC in Aenea).. the green light in the centre will list your sub-race options dependent on your actual race.. ..
Alternatively many of the sub-races do excist in Aenea, I personally have seen: winged, drow, demon-spawn,bright, gold heart, sea-elf, vampires, wolfbloods and via a mirror shadowchilds... ... all get along fine within Aenea.. if you picked one of the three night-only races (drow, vampire or shadow-child) feel free to PM me for some hints of play/ things to avoid... alternitively find me in game.. I'm always willing to help a fellow child of the night..hahaha..
In regards to question 2: Most people in Aenea end up good-aligned because of the various "naturally hostile" creatures are evil.. thus forcing you to be good.. however if you want to be evil go on a killing spree of animals and townsfolk.. just be warned that word-of-mouth in Aenea travels real fast (faster then teleport spells..lol) and you may end up with every village commoner, merchant and townguard after your back (all the more fun for killing and staying evil).. this is all because the faction system in NWN disregards alignments (but is the best way to group people under a common theme).. so you kill one villager and they all know as the whole faction turns against ye..
Keeping ye alignment how ye want it by just normal killings is hard but possible.. otherwise follow the tips on the pages hinted above .. the cosmic balance is a great god-send for those of a "mis-understood" nature.. .. ..
