Drow Interior Ceilings

Now available for your override folder: Drow Interior Ceiling/Roof

I'll be adding these to the Aenea hak (after I heavily modify one more tile to get rid of the Lloth statue in the temple group), but for now (and for playing any other module) you can download these models to put something overhead.

Will this add ceilings for the entire Drow tileset, like for the set with pink marble walls?

I think the Conflagral Temple and Crideas's residence use these, my player house too.

And do these ceilings need to be chosen somehow in one's player mod house area(s) in order to appear?

They should not show up for the pink-marble version of the tileset.  They look the same, but are effectively two different tilesets.

Nothing you need to do in the toolset to get the ceilings to appear   It's part of the tileset itself.

If you want to see them in game, just be sure to move the camera down low, and make sure you have the 'fade second story tile' option turned to never.

I do already have Never fade second story checked, and I've seen cave ceilings just fine, but there's no ceiling in those places I mentioned.

So I guess that means that no ceilings exist for the pink marble set, nor will exist from this override. 

No, this override wouldn't give the pink version ceilings.

I've actually become dissatisfied with the "elven interior" tileset.  I personally think that surface elves should (and would) have more of their own style rather than just saying "well, someone thought drow should get first treatment in a D&D game, so let's just copy their stuff with a different color".

The problem with this is that making all new models (or parts of models) is just so much more time consuming than swapping out textures.

I agree, why did the drow get all that when the major Elves have squat?  The pink marble is the highest-class Elvishy style available, (even though it has those very drowish wall features).  Wouldn't see my uptown Elf living in a crude wooden or stone building!  Not even much really to adequately match interiors for the interesting exteriors like you've used in the Sylvan realm.

But don't get me wrong, I really really like the pink marble set.  I just wish it had ceilings.  

Your fine work is always appreciated, , and makes up for the inadequacies of the orginal game and of other contributors.

Marble Elven Interiors is the Ruins tileset rather than the Drow one!

There's also that wood elf interior that I'm pretty sure you already know about

I didn't find anything like that in the Ruins tileset.

I do recall passing by the light wooden interior with wall lamps and trees that looked rather Japanese, don't recall which tileset, but yeah it didn't really fit my elegant uptown Elf.

I'd never actually seen (or don't remember seeing) that particular elven interior, Mecheon.

I have seen the wooden elven interior...and that one was just way too much wood everywhere, even for elves.

Ramana Jala, the files Mecheon is a different tileset made by retexturing the tiles from the Ruins set, rather than being part of the Ruins set.

Its also been slightly redone by Rozencratz (He was involved to begin with it), but that doesn't have all of the variations, just the green and blue ones. Still, it exists

I looked at that Rozencratz link.  Sittable couches and beds is very nice.  I'd love to paint walkmesh over the couches and beds we have now.  There's a placeables-only pack that includes these beds and couches:  http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=6834

And the white and gold schemed room is lovely, that would make a fine addition.  Helvene's lovely blue theme isn't pictured, but Rosencratz seems to imply that he has it in there too.  And he also said that he cleaned up a lot of things from Helvene's tilesets.  (But no ceilings apparently.)

What tileset is that wood elf one?

I remember making an area last year with that elvishy wood set, but I've since deleted it.  It was a round room wooden interior with the flower sconces on the wall, that I used as a treehouse room.

But I haven't been able to find that tileset again.  Despite having example areas for all interior tilesets in my module.

Let me know where you find it.  Otherwise I'm assuming it's not there anymore.

Kicking open the Build module puts it as an option under [CEP] City Interior 1

Yep, that's the one, [CEP] City Interior 1 is the Elven wooden interior with the parquet floor and the flowery wall sconces. 

And it even has spiral staircases, I didn't realize.

I found a different all-wood one, a retext of the drow interior.... and yeah, that one is VERY woody O_o

Oh, and say, Manny, what's that wood tileset you used for Alistair's house (the manor with all the dogs wandering around)?  I remember that it had a rather upscale look for wood, and I might could use it somewhere.

Yes, a different one than what's in the aenea haks.  It's a reskin of the drow interior tileset.



It's not a BAD reskin, but it's somewhat monotonous... *everything* is wood except for the mosaics in the curved corners on the 'floor 2'

As for Synge Manor, it's CEP interior 1 or 2.  Forget which exactly, but it's a CEP tileset, a variation of the bioware rural interior with the 'upscale' tiles (angled corners, skyboxed windows, ect).

That's ... a *lot* of wood.  
Any open fire source in and near a house made with that tileset need to be prohibited and wizards banned from conjuring fire elementals lest it all goes up in flames.
