can't join
New life, new laptop, old bad habits
Getting unknown error on pc-load screen, tried for 3 days, downloaded all files twice:
Maybe there is something I missed?
(cd-key has changed)

Re: can't join
You still need to unpack those downloads... and put the files in the relevant place within your NWN directory.... maybe?

Re: can't join
I know that I thought my reg.date would speak of that (got 2 asc PCs). I just don't know why I can't join. Maybe that's because of my different cd-key, or there are other files need to be downloaded (nwn v1.70)

Re: can't join
What is it doing down to the letter that you cant join ... ..( saying a IP conflict ) .. just not connecting to server ?... not letting you see character select ... letting u see character select but not join in the game ... ?? need more detail .. i have had alot of problems with NwN over the years and always find a work around or resolve

Re: can't join
Two things to try to help diagnose why:
1) Download the optional default dialog.tlk file. Besides cosmetic tweaks it has (such as changing all "halfling" references to "fae") the optional tlk has a number of boot messages that display when you are booted from the game. If your CD key issue is the cause, one of the boot messages will relay something to that effect.
2) client log error file. If you are missing any haks, this file will display the missing hak names. And, looking at the list you've already provided, you appear to be missing projectQ v2.
You can download project Q off the new vault (neverwintervault.org). The full package is available for download now, so you don't have to mess with the updater.
I would guess that the CD key is an issue as well though. Aenea has a custom security check in place which checks your public CD key against your login name. If the key associated with your login name does not match, boot! There is a VC command (sorry, can't recall it off hand, it should be on the website though?) which you can use to add your second set of CD keys to your login name association. Log in with your computer that has the good set of keys first, use the VC command, log out, and then log back in with the other set of keys.

Re: can't join
sounds exactly like a problem i had a few weeks ago when i played on the Aventia Server . i went over a frineds house took my CDkeys with me put NWN on his laptop and use my keys and could only get to the Character Select Screen and every time i selected a character it would boot me .. i think all your files are ok .. its not you .. .its a server conflict with your IP and your account and some crap like that because I know if you make another account with totaly diffrent name and try to log into the server you can get in 100% fine with all the same files you have right now .. but its just your origional account that wont work from a "diffrent" location ... even with all your KNOWN to work CD-keys ..

Re: can't join
The custom check I mentioned is scripted into Aenea, and as far as I'm aware, only checks the public key against the username. Location (IP) doesn't matter.

Re: can't join
Just tried a new account, all works fine. Can I get my old characters moved to my new account?
Just 2 of them (Wind and Mariette Moon from eliseevda to coldwind). Or maybe just an old cdkey from server data?
