Empowerment staff - misleading description
It states "9th level spells can't be empowered", but 8th level ones aren't either(which I suppose is intended considering that's how the feat works).

Re: Empowerment staff - misleading description
As per the feat description on the wiki, empowering a spell takes a slot TWO levels higher. As there are no slot levels higher then level 9, 8th and 9th level spells cannot be affected by this feat.
Also see the notes at the bottom of the staves website page.
I think it's likely intended to not work with 8th level spells, so this is just a case of fixing the descriptive text. The wiki page also has a neat list of the spells the feat actually effects. It would be great if some Aenean wizards could add in what custom Aenean spells are effected too, maybe add a thread in the hints and tips section... ...

Re: Empowerment staff - misleading description
I know how metamagic works, I've been playing mages forever.
That's what I meant when I speculated it was intended, but staves don't always work exactly like their feat counterparts(extend one doesn't). Even if they did, a player shouldn't need to assume an Aenea-specific item is more faithful to a preconception than its' actual description. has done some significant changes to systems I wouldn't expect touched, so while surprising, it wasn't enough to hit my "too good to be true" spot, since the level boost of metamagic is virtual(only relevant for spell slots AFAIK).
