Any good beginner quests?
I logged into Aenea for the first time today, but I couldn't find any NPCs that would give me local beginner quests. Do I need to travel away from the starting village to find suitable quests for second level characters?
I got the Fishhead's Oil quest from the old man though. Requires travel it seems, but I forgot where I'd need to go (no quest log).

Re: Any good beginner quests?
After all these years, the Fetch A Drink quest is one I usually perform. As not all spawns are scaled, swift retreats and running away are viable tactics at early levels. Location info can be obtained from a frequenter at the bar in the Inn.
Blackberries can be found in the woods along the road leading out of the Vale. Be very wary when using the Harvesting Tool, as those wild thorns have been known to pierce armor, and kill lesser humanoids. It is best to remain as far from them as is possible.

Re: Any good beginner quests?
The quest system has moved from the regular NWN journal to the "vc quest/journal' system.
The vc command ;;quest list should give you your current quests. ;;quest help will give all the related commands as well, including a status of quest command. For example, if you talk to farmer Mard in his house next to the barn with the giant ants in it, you'll get a quest from him him to find his daughter (Rescue farmer Mard's daughter [0001]). Typing in ;;quest status 0001 (I think that's the command, not 100%) will cause a pop up box to show, telling you the pertinent information.
As for quest givers, there's the above mentioned Farmer Mard, and there is also quests in the town hall. In the room where Kerril stands, there's a bunch of papers tacked to the wall. Examine the papers, they are the "quest givers". Select one with your player select tool, and then type the command ;;quest start to begin the quest. There's 6 or 7 of them, however some are level restricted (think the highest restriction is level 10 or 12, each paper will have the specifics when you examine them.

Re: Any good beginner quests?
I'd check through the forums - I believe that changed the quest logs from the native NwN journaling to a vc command structure.
Another good place to get beginner's quests is the Mayor's assistant - forget what his name was. Look for Town Hall in the Vale, and you should find his office. Also, ask the npcs wandering around, and watch conversation options for some of the vendors, as a few offer quests as well.
As far as the thorns, check with Darla in the Vale - I believe she offers a set of worker's gloves that alleviate the damage. And for actually locating the berries, follow the "You discover some humanoid tracks" out of the Vale.
And, dammit, MannyJabrielle, posting your post before I finish typing mine! Honestly, the nerve of some people!

Re: Any good beginner quests?
I did a couple of beginner quests, and used the quest command to get info. So far, so good. I just hope there would be folks playing to get some parties going. Large world-slow progress games can get tedious if having to go alone all the time.

Re: Any good beginner quests?
I've been playing for a couple of nights now on different servers on most days, from 4pm till 5pm, then again after 6pm, GMT +2/FLE timezone. Sometimes I play up from 6pm to 8pm if I get good progress.
So that's about 1-2 hours at a time, most weeknights.

Re: Any good beginner quests?
If my conversions are correct, your GMT+2 windows from 4pm to 8pm corresponds to
2pm-6pm GMT/UTC
10am-2pm EDT/(GMT/UTC -4)
7am-11am PDT/(GMT/UTC -7)
I admit those conversions may not be accurate, but if they are, I am working pretty much the entire window that you are playing
