A control question.

So, my friends, I was wondering ... would it be at all possible for the control mechanism to be changed?  To clarify, could the mouse be given complete and total control over movement?  Much like the control in The Old Republic?  Hold in the left mouse button and spin the mouse to rotate the camera, and hold down both buttons and your PC moves forward, and spin the mouse to change your PC's direction?

Holding down middle mouse can allow you to rotate the camera.

Character facing can be controlled somewhat accurately by clicking to move in the desired direction.

Auto run is not an option, unless you can set another player or NPC as your 'follow' target

Hey, an update!

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth (and reading of many, many forum posts), I found a key remapping program, ATNSOFT Key Remapper, and I was able to swap the mouse middle button for the mouse right button!

That's probably as close to the SWTOR control scheme as I'm gonna get. Plus, you can tell the remapper to only work when certain programs are open - genius!

Dude... that seems like quite a find. I am slightly taken aback that this software is not more well-known, since I a willing to wager most people have wanted something that does this on more than one occasion.

That kind of software could be very useful considering that a couple of recent titles did bot launch with re-programmable control keys (ie; TW3, FO4). I don't know if this would have helped with them, but could be a step in the right direction.
