Post by Icingblade Mon Apr 18, 2016 4:31 am

Hello Aenea!

I have always been a fan of quests/tasks in my rp worlds. They give me short/long term goals to search the world and gain experience while doing so. I have enjoyed the quests and quest system implemented in Aenea. It appears that the quest list might be formidable from my short time here. I was wondering if there was a club or any PC that can  vouch that they have found/completed every quest?

Am fairly certain that the ones with more tenure than mine have, but can honestly state I have not. Honestly, my builds are not up to those that generally play such content, and when I was able to play, others were not.

My advice is to seek out Dave, Eric, Manny, Angel of Death, Rusty, and even Ramana; those that have more solo experience then myself.

I've never heard mention of a club, or anything along those lines.

If you go here, probably most of the folks in the top 10 (excluding me) might be likely candidates for such a title.

-And I see from Elhanan's post that he has excluded himself as well.

I think I can safely say that "back in the day" at least three of my PC's have "completed" every quest there is, including some hidden quests. Any viable PC build should be able to achieve everything by about level 30. (Except re-incarnation/ascension, which require you to be level 40).

Unfortunately I am no longer in a position with plenty of free time to be a useful guide around the world and its many quests, but rest assured it will be one hell of good ride.

I think most of the people who have actually 'done all the quests' actually did them before the new quest system was implemented, so even our most experienced 'Vets' probably haven't done them all since the new system. I've done most, and I will say there are still some minor kinks and bugs that needed working out last time I was quest-focused.

I know I've done quests that don't even exist anymore like the old league of extraordinary adventurer's tests and maze, or the old Calithian desert ruin maze (good riddance to that one).

I do believe The Amethyst Dragon added some new ones, however - so the 'title' may be up for grabs on that Razz

I think it would be neat to have a thread in the OOC section with a check list of known/found quests so that folks can go down the list and see what ones they might have missed, or post that they found one not on the list. If that's something you'd be interested in starting.

Glad to see there is still enthusiasm for the quests out there. Can't wait to keep exploring to see what I can find and accomplish. The Calithian desert ruin maze sounds awesome!

That maze really wasn't ... it was one of The Amethyst Dragon's most nefarious forms of torture ever unleashed upon us poor unsuspecting players!

You can still try your hand at the maze, but it has been moved to just to the east edge of the Vale (no road, but there's a transition there). Just go past the Wizard Chess board.

If I recall correctly, back when I was exploring Aenea for the first time with Crideas... I found that maze and it took me 3 days of painstaking trial-and-error to fully map the solution.

To be fair, The Amethyst Dragon had actually hidden the solution in a particularly evil hiding spot, but it was there if people happened to look. Sadly, I and most other folks never found it, so we endured the torture.

The trick was to simply Examine *everything*, which is good advice in general.

I will say, as evil as that maze was, truly....

I don't think The Amethyst Dragon will ever be able to top the heights of evil he achieved when he *rick-rolled* everyone on the server  *in-game* under the guise of a special DM event.

I still remember the sense of abject disbelief when the realization dawned on me of the joke I had just blithely waltzed into...

... and then I wished I had been the one to think of it first Twisted Evil

He thinks outside the box, our dragon does...

I'm very fond of the Anga Nol quest, and Crideas was kind enough to help me with it when I was new. I would like to pay it forward by helping you with the quest if you're interested, Icingblade.

Thanks Caldor . My play time has been limited past couple weeks. I have not encountered the Anga Nol quest thus far. Would love any assistance.

Ahhh.... Nostalgia. I will say this:

The Prophesy of Anga Nol is one of the very best quests in all of Aenea. Very challenging to figure out, which makes it rewarding. Horrendously tough battles near the climax, and the end boss can easily be considered one of the deadliest on the whole server (though some character builds which employ certain tactics can make the fight much easier). Also some sweet loot off the end boss.

Due to repeated requests, The Amethyst Dragon made the quest repeatable... but do yourself a favor, and savor the first time. It will never be quite the same after that Smile

As for getting started... here are some hints:

1) The Writing is on the Wall... in more than one place, and when you see it somewhere, it means that place matters.

2) For some strange reason, scrolls of prophesies have a tendency to wind up in the desert... sometimes in the hands of those who "find" .... "lost" things.... and sometimes they get sealed into stonework to protect them from the elements for safekeeping through the long years.
