Using the levitate animation style, weapons you wield automatically float to the side (if you dual wield, the off-hand weapon also floats). In combat, it looks like you're using telekinesis to slash or stab with them.

Not really fair that Crideas isn't able to do this right now...he was the first wizard to reach true epicness (40th level).

If you're referring to the fiery sword floating next to Ignatius, that is a prize that you can get toward the end of one of the quests (although to get it, you have to be observant of your surroundings in a place you wouldn't expect to find fire, since it's not just handed to you).
