Not Used: Levitating and Traps
It would be neat levitating PC's (and monsters such as Beholders) be immune to triggering most traps? Seeing as most traps are tripwires, I'd expect that someone who levitates goes right over them.

Re: Not Used: Levitating and Traps
Depends on how high the tripwire is I would think.
Personally, I'd set a tripwire around knee high at least, so the target wouldn't possibly 'step over' the wire.

Re: Not Used: Levitating and Traps
That's why I said Most. I realize that there should be traps that can't be avoided, especially any on objects such as doors, but some should be avoided. Maybe give levitating PCs a bonus to saves vs. traps instead of full immunity?

Re: Not Used: Levitating and Traps
I think this issue is one of those tough situations where game mehcanics meets reality.... and game mechanics needs to win out in the end... with some sort of explanation involving low-tech proximity detectors....
or something

Re: Not Used: Levitating and Traps
I suppose that's a good point - and besides, how often do you run into traps beyond the two on the bridge? Was just one of those random thoughts while I was toying with the new (and AWESOME) traps.

Re: Not Used: Levitating and Traps
There's a few very decent traps to snag PCs.
And lately, when on in DM mode... I've grown rather fond of traps. Many epic level PCs don't bother investing much, if anything into search, so traps are a very nice supplement to baddies.

Re: Not Used: Levitating and Traps
Not really worth the time to edit every single trap script in the game to account for something only epic sorcerers and wizards (and ascended PCs) can do, especially since not all traps technically use "tripwires".
