Player reward item
OK this is a bit complicated.
For my character, Ragrigrin the Mongoose, I have a 40k item (Cobra Fang, which I have already received). Now I have an 80k ticket. I understand that I can upgrade the item to 120k with the 80k ticket (40+80=120). However, I would like to design a kilt for him. Trouble is I do not want an 80k kilt. So should I:
A) Buy an item redesign ticket and redesign Cobra Fang to the Kilt of the Bare Sarker and submit the redesign .erf for 40k. Then submit the new 80k version of Cobra Fang?
B) Simply submit the items (with the requisite comment notations) and not waste my money on the redesign ticket?
C) Give up and realize I should have thought of this before the original item?
2nd Question
If I submit them at the same time, that is, before the redesign takes effect, will the script overwrite both the Cobra Fang item I have and the one that I would receive for my 80k ticket?
Hopefully the answer is no (since I am positively squirming to put the items into use).
Sorry for the complication.

Re: Player reward item
You'll most likely need to purchase the redesign voucher and use it for changing your 40k item to make your kilt, then use your 80k for your Cobra Fang. I did some redesigning myself not to long ago and I'm almost positive that's how ya need to do it.

Yep, yep, RayvenNightkind is pretty much on the money. It's a painless process that I have experienced myself.

well, almost painless, lol, minus the price of the redesign voucher, but even that is a mere pittance for what your able to do with it.

Re: Player reward item
Oh I'm not at all concerned about the price of the ticket (although the fact that there seems to be only one for sale in the barkeep's inventory per reset...and I didn't get it...is a bit of a concern). My biggest fear is that the script will screw the pooch and replace the wrong item. SO I figure I'll wait to submit the items til responds. I have to wait to buy a redesign ticket anyway.

Re: Player reward item
You can redesign the 40k dagger into a kilt. But you have to be VERY clear in your item comments about everything:
item's original name and type
item's original value (which should be the same as before)
username (proper spelling/spacing/capitalization counts)
full character name (proper spelling/spacing/capitalization counts here too)
the fact that this is a REDESIGN.
The 80k dagger you can submit on it's own, but once again, please be clear in the comments about everything.
There have been folks that didn't get their items for a long time because they forgot to include proper usernames and character names in the comments of the item itself, or made a typo as small as one character with different capitalization.

Re: Player reward item
Well alrighty, I have sent you the files . To the best of my knowledge the name is correct, I am quite certain that the 1st/last splt was after Ragrigrin, but I don't know of a way to check. All the proper notations etc. and I bought a redesign ticket today. All set.

Re: Player reward item
Ok another question. If I currently have a 40k armor, an 80k sword and a 120k item ticket. Can I upgrade my 40k armor to an 80k item and combine the 120k ticket with the 40k to make a 160k sword, thereby giving me a 160k sword and an 80k armor. Basically, the same items (a sword and armor) just shuffling values to upgrade both of them. No tickets are split in value I would just be shuffling the tickets.
Of course I could accomplish this through subterfuge by first redesigning my 40k armor to be the sword, and my 80k sword to be the armor and then upgrading the sword. I am of course willing to buy two redesign tickets in order to facilitate this. My only hope is to avoid the down time from multiple redesigns and subsequent implementation.
What do ya say?

Re: Player reward item
I am fairly certain, because you would be changing the base item type for the 40k and 80k items before adding the 120k to the 40k, that you would indeed need to get 2 redesign vouchers.
You should be able to submit the 160k sword and 80k armor together, but again your must be very clear and very specific about what you are doing, and the fact that you are expending 2 redesign vouchers plus using your 120k voucher to upgrade the 40k to 160k.

Re: Player reward item
I've recently found myself wondering.... how does one get the items replaced when they are updated? Is it via the script through old whats-'is-name in the inn or the script as you walk over there?

Voucher item switches/upgrades should swap out with the same trigger that we get the items from to start with.
