... and there's a picture of me, creating a custom item.

So I made a bow and put a bonus spell slot on it, forgetting, of course, that weapons are unequipped when you rest. Say I decide to use my next voucher to upgrade said bow... am I allowed to remove the bonus spell slot and add something, you know, useful? Or is that kind of uncool? Forgive me if I sound lame, but I'm not really clear on proper D&D protocol.

You can do that, or you can purchase a custom item redesign voucher from the bartender in the Sleeping Dragon Inn

Depending on if you have said item yet or not... ALERT ASAP ... he will wait for a while for you to re-submit your item if it's not already in-game...
.... if it is in-game, then you can get an item redesign voucher and make it afresh or wait until your next voucher and create a new item with the new total voucher price (adding and removing properties as you see fit )....

I've already got the item, so it's too late for a re-design now, but I'll definitely have a do-over on my next voucher award.

You're not the only one to make a blunder My first few custom items ever for my bard... 3 or the first 4 had spell focus enchantment on them O_o I'm sure everyone else has a blunder of their own

Jay, my twin-sword style melee ranger still has his 20k unlimited arrow bow.... and whilst that really isn't such a bad thing design wise... I think he's actually used it erm.. twice.. maybe three times.... four at a push...

I just don't want to change it.. it was my first custom item, my first landmark in Aenea, my mistake and my reminder... think very carefully about your custom items, the PC they are for and the abilities they lack or need improving....

You mean like my amulet that has Spell Sequencer 1/day and no clear sequencer on it?
