The Character Deletion Thread Empty The Character Deletion Thread

Post by evilkittenofdoom Sat Oct 10, 2009 11:02 am

This is so that The Amethyst Dragon can have one conveinent place to find all character deletion requests and so he doesn't have to keep locking/deleting all of the deletion threads that are made.

The Amethyst Dragon Edit:

Even if a character is deleted, do not re-use that character's name. Countless settings are tied to a character's name (everything from languages to quest variables to game options), and none of these are removed when you have a character deleted (or retire a character)...simply because I don't remember them all.

Re-using a name means the new character inherits a lot of stuff.

One question, since I didn't do zone out of astral zone, can I reuse the name? I plan on using the same class and race, so hopefully I didn't mess anything up. I also didn't select any subrace or diety, assuming I would do it in the astral zone, has that be moved back to the character creation screen?
Character deleted from the servervault.

Not sure if anything will be messed up using the same name so early in character creation.  I guess you could always test and find out for us. Razz

16-character file names. The game ignores spaces and capitalization when naming character files, so it considered all three to be the same and just replaced the 16th character with numbers for the 2nd and 3rd ones that were created.

First one created was "araknonmar'tulma", second one created was "araknonmar'tulm1", third one created was named "araknonmar'tulm2". Your logging in on the one you wanted to keep changed the date the file was modified so I could tell them apart on my end.

I've deleted the retired characters for you.
